I just got my XMC-1 back from service and all is well again. Emotiva service was great.
The HDMI bd needed repair- ARC works perfectly. They replace the front panel bd also and re-flashed the firmware. The cost was very reasonable. Emotiva service has been great each time I needed them and the turn around time was less than 2 weeks.
I tested the XMC on each monitor/TV in the house and it works with each.
EXCEPT-
Now if I can get Sony to fix my BRAND NEW XBR 65X900H. They updated the firmware and the HDMI inputs don't work any more except with their UBP-X800 player and after hours of trial & error, 10 factory resets, got DTV to sync after I swapped the Genie with another. As most know, DTV has different manufacturers make their units, their Genie xxxx700 would not sync but the Genie xxxx400 would sync. PITA. To use any device, it must connect directly into the X900H, then fight with it.
XMC-1 and HTPC still won't sync
What has me p.o. is the X900H causes the XMC display to flash & makes changes, but won't sync/handshake or install to #3 ARC input.
I don't want to hear people tell me to just input to TV and Toslink/coax out. I built-in a 8' x 4' custom oak A/V center with drawers, shelving & cabinets for my equipment and that's where I want my stuff and not see wires everywhere (that's so low class).
Today Sony FINALLY called me after days waiting and told me to call "Joe's TV repair" which I did. Joe tells me that he can't repair it without a work ticket from Sony. So it will be weeks of more waiting... to hear back from Sony. Best Buy REFUSES to help me, "It's beyond the 15 day return period." Oh, stick it Best Buy. I should have bought from Amazon or Crutchfield.
