Hello! first time poster here.
I have an XPR-5 (400Wx5) unit I purchased on 9/17/2012.
Recently it started having an issue where I would hear popping sporadically and then the 5th channel would blink red and the unit would shut off.
I spoke to Support a few weeks ago and they suggested 1) replacing the speaker cable for the 5th channel and 2) moving that speaker to a different channel to determine if the issue is with the speaker or amplifier.
I did those steps and the issue did not follow the speaker. After 30 minutes or so of watching television I hear large popping noises a few times and then the 5th channel (this time with an entirely different speaker and cable) will blink red and the unit turns off.
Unfortunately support is now telling me the XPR-5 is no longer serviceable by them and to find a local dealer. I am having trouble finding anyone in the New York area who will look at this thing.
Any advice? Does anyone know someone who would service this preferably around NY/NJ?
Thank you!!!

I'm assuming you did....next, ask them if they can provide schematics so that an electronics tech has something to work with.

I did ask for help finding a dealer and they said they could not provide that.
However they did provide the schematics, which is a start...

It ended up being unrepairable as the fix was a new front panel which is no longer available. Hopefully your issue isn’t the same as his.

The XPR amplifiers were great amplifiers. I would 100% get that fixed. Especially since the Schematic was provided. Look out for possible Electrolytic Capacitor fail and so on. It sounds like it would not be that difficult to fix.

The xprs amps are really complex amps. I never heard anybody been able to fix one. Hopefully you can be the exception

Thanks everyone for your help. bill - I sent a message to EBC Electronics this morning. Hoping to hear back soon. Thanks so much for the recommendation. Even if it takes a long while I'd much rather get it fixed right by someone with experience with these units.

Shoot me a PM if you would like his info. Scott

If I can respectfully make a suggestion, if you haven't already I'd suggest swapping the inputs to he amp same as you have with the outputs, including interconnects.
Cheers Gary

Cheers Gary Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried that and even tried removing all but 1 speaker and moving it around the different channels. It's always the 5th channel that starts blinking red whether something is connected to it or not and it powers the unit off. Hoping I can get in touch with EBC electronics (although looks like they are not taking any new repairs for over a month) or Scott's contact in New Jersey that repaired his XPR1. Other than that still calling around the area and no one so far wants to get involved with fixing it.

Whichever of those outfits can get you in will do the trick (eventually). Always a pain when the amp. gives it up since that is the heart of the system. Bill
