I have a RMC-1 latest Firmware and Nvidia shield Pro last updated. I can't get the video to show when running input on the RMC-1 as HTML 2.0 when I change it to HDMI 1.4 it show the video. Sound is fine. I've moved the Nvidia Shield to another Amp to test and it works fine. For example I get UHD and ATOMS on Netflix app where as when it is on the RMC-1 I only get HD and ATOMS as it is running HDMI 1.4. My projector is 4K Sony and I get UHD 4k when running Sky. Sky input is also running on HDMI 2.0 The questions I have are: - Has anyone else got a Nvidia Shield Pro work with HDMI 2.0 on an RMC-1?
- Is my lack of UHD on Netflix down to the lack of HMDI 2.0?
- Can anyone suggest any other tests I can do to workout what is wrong?
- If this is a bug some where what data do I need to upload to help someone fix it and to where Nvidia or Emotiva
Thank you for you help in advance. I new and just learning about my setup so no 100% I have this full understood yet.

I have a 2019 Nvidia Shield Pro running through my RMC-1L (with HDMI 2.0 enabled on its input) with no issues at all. Which HDMI output are you using on your RMC-1 (Out 1 or Out 2)...? You should be using HDMI OUT 2 as that is the "primary" output for the Gen3 processors. Also, It would be helpful if you describe what components you use in your complete system from source to sink. That's why most of us have our equipment listed in our "signatures"... Let's start with that...

Thanks I was using HDMI 1 output but just changed it to 2 and I still have the same problem.
I've updated my signature so that it lists what I'm running now thanks for the tip.

"Maybe" to your first question. 1.4 should allow 4k resolution but only at 24/25/30 hz frame rates. For your second question: 1) go into the Nvidia and see if you can force the resolution to one of the above, then switch the RMC-1 back to 2.0 and see if it works. If it does, then I'd try different (higher) 4k settings on the Nvidia to see where it stops working 2) go into the other Nvidia settings and see if things like ARC and CEC are enabled and turn those off. You probably could compare settings against what Doc has and see if yours are different. What cables are you using for RMC-to-projector, and Nvidia-to-RMC?

thanks I'll try down grading the Nvidia to a low setting and see if I can HDMI 2.0 to work this evening and report back
Cables are: HDMI from Nvidia to RMC HDMI over Cat6 from RCM to Projector
Worth nothing Syk works over the same HMDI over Cat6 and is running HDMI 2.0

Just tested down grading the Nvidia to 4K and 30Hz but still no luck on HDMI 2.0 it dose display at this resolution but when activate Netflix App I only get HD quality where as when I use Netflix on Sky Q I get UHD for the same movie. Although just drive me mad on Sky I only get 5.1
Also tried display all CEC and Arc on Nvidia and still no luck
This leaves we stuck between UHD and 5.1 or HD and ATOMS this just feel unfair given the setup is designed to do both.
Thanks for all the help everyone

A quick lookup of the specs says that only HDMI Input 2 is compatible with HDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2.

There should be a setting called " HDMI Signal Format". Make sure it is set to " Enhanced" (not "Standard") and report back. That default setting on your Shield does not sound logical for your projector. It should be something more along the lines of "3840x2160 60Hz YUV 420 10 bit rec2020 HDR10 ready" or something close to that for a Sony. Match color space should also be enabled on your Shield. Leave the Shield's input on your RMC-1 set as HDMI 2.0.

Tested on HTMI 2.0 and still dose not work, 1.4 plays ok

Cables: HDMI from Nvidia to RMC HDMI over Cat6 from RCM to Projector What kind (brand/model) of HDMI cable from the Nvidia to the RMC? There are a bajillion different types/manufacturers, and you'd want something that was 4k certified or better. Same question for who makes your HDMI over Cat6? That one worries me as it just doesn't work well at higher resolutions and has had lots of problems with Emo's V3 HDMI board that you have. Can you, temporarily, move the projector close to the RMC and hook it up with a 4k certified cable and see if that works?

One other thing - is there a way to tell what the actual resolution is with the Sky Q box with Netflix? It may just only be 4K 30 Hz as well and you don't realize it.
Also, I thought not everything on Netflix is 4k (but I don't have it, so not positive)? Are you sure whatever you are trying to watch is 4k? The Nvidia could be smarter than the Sky Q and be telling you what the actual source is, while the Sky Q just tells you the initial connection resolution is but not what the content is.

All HDMI cables are "HIGH speed HDMI cable with Ethernet E309675 AWM style 20276 80oC 30v vw-1 samson" The HDMI to Cat6 converter is a "BLUstream P/N:HEX70B-TX"
Sorry Sony is attached to the celling so I would need to get long HDMI to replace it I think I have 10m somewhere I could test with but need to dig for that another night
Big thanks for all the help everyone

I'd try to dig it up, but it has to be a 4k or better certified cable. If it's an old one, it might not be. Any fellow theatre friends of yours you could borrow a cable from and try?
One other thing to try - use the Cat6 HDMI straight from the Nvidia to the projector (get the RMC out of the path) and see how that works. Try that with the Sky Q and if you have a UHD disc player anywhere as well.

ok interesting plugged the shield directly in to the HDMI that runs in to the "BLUstream P/N:HEX70B-TX" then Sony nothing. Next step is replace the that is a HDMI cable directly to projector I'll locate that tomorrow need to find the it in the loft.
Thanks again everyone feels like I'm making progress
Just to note I don't have a UHD disk play only Sky Q and Shield
I'm sure Netfix is 4K as the content I'm watching show as UHD ATOMS when I plug the Shield in to hold rig that I had before the Emotiva that is now in the lounge.

Shield now set to 3840x2160 30 HZ YUV 422 12-bit Rec. 709it looks to hold the resolution when I set that Sony HDMI Single Format is set to Enhanced for both HDMI input on Sony I'm use input 2 Colour match also enabled on shield Tested on HTMI 2.0 and still dose not work, 1.4 plays ok I've looked up the specs for your HDBaseT extender and it doesn't appear to me that what you chose (underlined above) would be a "valid" HDMI format supported by your extender. Please leave your Shield's input on your RMC-1 set to HDMI 2.0 and then go back into the display settings on your Shield (Settings > Device Preferences > Display > Custom Resolution) and use the " Resolution Filter" to filter out all resolutions except for 3840x2160. Then, click " Display Modes" and from the selections listed, look for and choose " 3840x2160 60Hz YUV 420 10-bit Rec.2020 HDR10 Ready". Now, since you're across the pond from us here in the USA, you likely have a "50Hz" selection (whereas ours would be 59.940 Hz). 50Hz, for you, is appropriate. But what I've highlighted above (in blue) and underlined is important because, if my suspicions are correct, your HDBaseT extender might only support 4K resolutions at 50/60Hz using a 4:2:0 chroma value. I've attached a photo of what my settings are and I have also " boxed" those selection areas that I've asked you to change above. Please report back after making these changes. I can offer some suggestions in areas that rbk123 has already called attention to, but I will address this after we see if what I've outlined above actually works...

I think we are getting closer to the problem. I just plugged the Shield directly in the Sony Projector and got no picture.
I'm running for the Nvidia Shield Version 9 Kernel version 4.9.140-tegra-g7ad5124ecf88 Shield Android TV SW Version 8.2.2(32.6.509.0)

Then, click "Display Modes" and from the selections listed, look for and choose "3840x2160 60Hz YUV 420 10-bit Rec.2020 HDR10 Ready". I've just looked and I don't have this mode listed. I have to pick between YUV 444 and YUV 422 and the Rec is always 709 and I can't get a refresh rate above 30Hz unless I lower the resolution I also check the manual today for BLUstream and it says "Supports 4K UHD video up to 40m (3840 x 2160 @30hz 4:4:4, 4096 x 2160 @24hz 4:4:4, and 4K@50/60Hz 4:2:0)" www.blustream.co.uk/hex70b-kitWhich I assume is what you by the 4:4:4 but I'm not what the means
