Hi,
I've been trying to figure out an edge case issue with my XMC-2.
For some time, I was hearing some high frequency hash from my speakers when listening to my Lyra Argo i Cartidge through a Gold Note PH-10 phono stage into the XLR analog input on the XMC-2. I have my turntable on a movealbe stand and discovered if I moved the turntable further away, I could reduce this noise or eliminate it. This noise is very low and only noticiable when standing directly in front of my Speakers (Martin Logan Expression 13a).
But with all thing's audiophile, once something is heard it is hard to unhear.
While I think I have mitigated this effect it got me wondering about the processor in the XMC-2. In many devices (Receivers, etc.) it is possible to employ a Direct Mode to turn off various features not needed in a pure listening mode. My understanding is that Reference Stereo is a direct line to the volume control and thus ideal for perfectionist analog listening. I was wondering if it would be possible to throttle down the XMC-2 processor as well to eliminate or reduce the RF output that affects my sensitive moving coil cartridge?
Thanks.

I assume all other sources are off while this noise is coming through? Just making sure you are certain it's not a source in addition to the processor. Use your OPPO as a pre so that you can circumvent the XMC-2 and run the turntable without it. Then you can turn on and off the XMC-2, and change to different audio modes and inputs etc to try to aggravate the XMC-2 to see if it's certain modes that either cause the noise or maybe even reduce it. But yeah, turning off unnecessary circuits would be nice, ala OPPO that lets us turn off the video.

I'm having a RF noise issue with my XMC-2 that started this weekend. It's is coming through my fronts and rear surround channels. Louder in rear surrounds. My RF noise is in all modes and inputs. The XMC-2 display is also going in and out. Everything works but a continuous noise. I have dismantled my system and opened a new amp and connected speakers from another room, all new wiring. Definitely the XMC-2. Calling tomorrow.
