im not trolling you are the one who said i was out of touch and used poor tact along with derogatory responses. do you know what a troll is? lol
its an option but way overpriced for what it is. especially since the OP already has a NAS setup. he doesnt need a zapitti how is that trolling?

Thanks, Guys for the help.
It looks like either option will work for less money than I was expecting - Now that's a first.
The Synology is on a different satellite of a Netgear Orbi based network, so the first job will be to look into improving that connection to make either system more viable.
I'll burn a few disks and try plex out in UHD with my existing hardware setup.
I will do some more research on the 'Zapitti Experience' as Melm suggests I could use one of the smaller units 299 units. The reason for the interest in the experience is my wife and daughter seem to understand what we have on plex but are not tending to use it. I also have been a long-term Roon user so I am not too interested in the broader music scope of Plex although I generally enjoy using it.
