Two times now while using the XMC-1 remote interface with the Unit the screen display on the unit became un readable overlaid with clutter and not responding to commands shutting down the unit and rebooting fixed this and seems to be working just fine.. Has anyone else experienced this and should I be worried ?

Make sure to keep a record as to who you spoke to and what they said.

Running the XMC-1 since October 2014 and have never experienced that. I would say that should not be happening. The age of my unit as it stands (if that were to happen) I would “pop the hood” and check the ribbon connectors...particularly the one that ties the display in.

Bill It's not a display issue at the root. The whole XMC-1 is locked up and unresponsive. The corrupt display is just a side effect.
In the early days of the XMC-1, it used to be pretty easy to replicate by cycling through the inputs or certain menu options rapidly. Guessing Emotiva has cleaned up that code, but I learned to be deliberate in my menu operations (plus I rarely have need these days).

Whatever is going on it shouldn’t be with a unit that has come but two weeks ago from the factory. The rest of what I said is just sayin...with an old pup like mine....checking the ribbons is prudent and not a bad idea. Most of the XMC1 connectors are the snap in loc type and that’s good. I had a Sunfire before this and as much as I love it, I’m not sure how it still ran with the ribbons SO LOOSE. Most with that unit are just press in pull off. It was a fright when I went in there. The power supply for example, was as loose as it could possibly be without falling off. Came from Washington State....Farther from me than TN.

Sure, a "new" unit should be as stable as can be since Emotiva checked it out. However, the problem could also be the common software inside reacting to the environment.
