I like Thomas' reviews... he doesn't just talk about the product, he provides a story behind it.

Struck me as a rather peculiar review, albeit honest based upon his preferred predilections, and thats the salient point. Sort of a mixed bag. For anyone considering a speaker along these lines (floor standing almost full range) its unlikely they would consider the T2+ on their short list if they took this review literally as the gospel. In todays world of mixed use, music and home theater, the majority of people would implement a sub woofer anyway. Additionally the term "bright" when attributed to any piece of audio gear seems like a very negative adjective and description or perhaps thats just me and my interpretation.
It occurs to me the design goal and voicing of all these speakers was not to be warm or lean, just neutral but most people are not used to this type of voicing let alone prefer it in any electronics especially in a speaker. Yet there are many who have nothing but high praise for the Airmotiv speakers including me with my B1+ for my studio. Interesting all of the other speakers he compared the T2+ with are significantly more expensive.

Thomas is one of the better reviewers unlike say Z reviews. I used to really like to watch his channel but don't waste my time there anymore. There are other much better reviewers than Z. I like Thomas because he has other people he knows and respects shares them through invitation. Joshua Valour is another reviewer I like. I think Thomas' thoughts on the T2+ are pretty much on target.

I wouldn't call those airmotivs bright, at least not in the room I listened in. But they were certainly quite good at the treble and produced a lot of detail. I have heard some DACs, usually older sabre units, where the sound appears too bright, but that's the fault of the electronics. Same goes with some amps, where things can sound "shouty".

I viewed Thomas' review on the Tekton Impact where he clarified more about his description. W/ the D.I.s he also used the word neutral / accurate and natural. One of the things I found of interest is how heavily he leaned on a buddy's experience who has played instruments for some 30 years. The friend of his stated the stringed instrument is the reference but Thomas admitted he has limited explosure to live performances. After depicting what natural means as in conversation pertaining to vocals his buddy suggested the age of the performer/singer. In other words if the singer is 30 years of age the speakers ought reproduce a 30 years of age sounding singer....... and not a 16 yr old. Realizing how fortunate I am to have exposure on any given Sunday to grand piano and sometimes violin or cello. Thomas suggested high end speakers exaggerate some frequency .... in which I agree. I mean, take percussion instruments such as drums.... the resonation going through the whole body usually is missing in live performance but in replication high end speakers will exaggerate the resonation through your body. Often we can even determine at what frequency that exaggeration focuses whether or not the sternum etc. What I also found interesting about Thomas' review on the Emotiva speakers is his comparison between Ribbon and Be. I have never heard Bes by other manufacturers but only by ScanSpeak in my speakers now. Though I have heard plenty of ribbons.
