Artie, I do not doubt your experience. You hear what you hear. I can assure you that it was not due to the loudspeaker drivers "breaking in." Whatever you experienced was most likely due to something in you.
Like I said in the other thread:

Well let's put it this way - I can assure you that I am right, and if I am not, then I'm not. Personally, I believe that many speakers I have purchased have sounded better to me after playing them for a while (none have ever sounded worse) but I really can't say if that is physical or psychological. I have had a couple that had characteristics I didn't like upon first listening to them, and after a break in period, those characteristics were gone. So is it just in my head or did they really go away with breaking them in? I dunno, but at least they sounded better to me after using them a while. That's better than going the other way.

This is a two part program. The NBR rings for the speakers need to limber up a little and your ears need to adjust a little too. Thanks. I will go clean out my ears tonight and turn them in a bit. Emotiva speakers have a really good off axis response so that probably will not be necessary but if it makes everything sound better then go for it!!!! ;D

...just how does someone go about designing a speaker that will sound better after a 200 hour break-in?

I live in the Los Angeles area where we can trust each other. Huh? I didn't know L.A. was so safe these days?? Your city has a pretty close murder rate to the Chicago area (my hometown). Speaking of which, there were 9 shootings here yesterday.

So what's the latest? Get rid of the Audessey stuff yet and just listen to the speakers? Not a fan of the automated setups... haven't seen them work well yet. Especially not for 2-channel music...
Last I remember you weren't thrilled... maybe you should try the Paradigms... see if the store will let you play it at home with your equipment. That way you can hear the speaker differences and not your AVR, calibration, source material or room differences.
