I'm currently using an old Yamaha home theatre receiver as my stereo amp and am looking to replace it.
I have a Fluance RT82 turntable (no pre-amp) and a Bludento BLT-HD wireless receiver with coax/rca/optical out and those are the only sources I care about.
A couple of weeks back, I was about to pull the trigger on a TA-100 but saw it was unavailable and today I see it's discontinued.
I see the A-100 but then I'd need a pre-amp too (not so much a problem, just acknowledging) and I'm not sure how I'd connect the BLT-HD.
What options do I have with Emotiva? And is there any info on when the TA-100 replacement will be out or what they specs/cost will be?
I'm thinking, and this is where the stupid question comes in, is it correct to say I'm looking for:
fluance ---> pre-amp ---\ ------------> some kind of mixer/device/whatever ---------> A-100 bludento ---------------/

Most likely they are coming with a replacement for the Ta-100 and PT-100. Let’s wait for the next podcast

Buy a current Sony or Yamaha integrated stereo amp with phono input. Waiting can be a VERY long-term option on Emotiva gear. I’m still waiting for the long-promised replacement for their home-stereo DAC. Oh, and a streamer, and a replacement for their premiere stereo preamp, etc.
IMHO, Emotiva has decided to become a home theater company first, and everything else, never (or at least almost never). In the mean time, a LOT of companies seem to be contending for new-generation stereo customers. Some I can think of off the top of my head: NAD, Creek, Monoprice, PS Audio (Sprout), and a flock of “build-it-yourself” kit companies.
Is what it is...

No more TA-100 ?
Yeah, where's the DAC, The XSP-1 Gen3/ XSP-2 Gen1 and a streamer. Never understood dropping a line BEFORE you have a replacement. Perhaps its due to the level of commitment they'd have to agree to keep items in stock.

Hi bertmachoSo you're real problem is that your BLT-HD needs a preamp. And a good preamp can be just as expensive as the amp you are going to buy or more. Also you need TWO inputs oner for the BLT and one for the turntable. The A-100 is not a switching preamp. One thing you can do is buy a schiit sys. That is a passive preamp that is relatively cheap (about $60). But then you would need to also buy a switching box - which are pretty inexpensive www.amazon.com/MT-VIKI-2-Way-Switch-Selector-Switcher/dp/B0881S3V9H/You would also need a phono preamp which you can get with an Emotiva XPS-1. Which means you would need a whole lot of boxes. I think it would be easier if you buy a USED TA-100 in the emporium. I'm not sure if the TA-100 has a phonopreamp. The easiest component for you (which would be expensive) would be (used) Emotiva DC-1. Emotiva SP-1. Connect it to the A-100. or even better a (used Emotiva PA-1). But that is a lot of money. I personally would just WAIT for the TA-100 replacement.

There WILL be replacements, and they aren't that far out, but I don't have a date yet. Most likely they are coming with a replacement for the Ta-100 and PT-100. Let’s wait for the next podcast

The PT-100 and the TA-100 have all the same inputs and controls... including the same phono preamp.
(Except for the amps on the TA-100 and slightly different settings on the sub output related to that.)

I wasn't aware that the BLT-HD needed a pre-amp too... I thought it would just plug directly into a line-in on whatever device I get that goes out to the speakers (currently my Yamaha RV1103)
But in saying that, isn't the Schiit Sys just what I'm looking for here? And to save some extra $$$ I was looking at the Schiit Mani as a phono preamp. Sys + Mani = $180 and A100 = $229 which in total is right around price of what the TA-100 was
The Sys blurb says it's a switching pre-amp: "SYS stands for "switch your, er...schtuff." Sys is a simple, 2-input passive preamp. No electronics. No power. No distortion. Just a 2-way switch and a potentiometer."
I hear you on the benefits of waiting and seeing what the replacement for the TA-100 is though.

Your reasoning is better than mine! Yes your schiit sys schiit mani and a-100 should serve you well. Your BLT does need a volume control of some sort (which is what I meant by preamp). Sorry I worded that poorly. You are right about the two input of the schiit sys. So it sounds like a nice compact solution. Keep in mind if you get a used TA-100 though it will give you - A remote for volume and input switching. - A single box and power cable versus the three boxes. - Digital inputs for things like your dvd/blu-ray player, your game console, or even your cable box. Keep in mind it doesn't have HDMI but there are HDMI passthroughs out there at about $60 that provide optical or RCA coax digital outputs for the TA-100. - Compared to the schiit sys, the TA-100 is not a passive preamp. Passive preamps (though it should work fine in your context) have limitations that active preamps like the TA-100 do not have. - Depending on when it was purchased, you can get the warranty on the TA-100 transferred to you. (I'm not sure if the TA-100 has a transferrable warranty but most Emotiva products have a transferrable warranty). Note: - the PT-100 will do most of this as well except you would need the A-100 amp as well. - You can post a want to buy ad on the Emotiva Emporium section of the forum if you are interested in a TA-100 or PT-100. - Your choice of an A-100 has one big advantage. It's got an amazing headphone amp section. If you are specifically running high impedance headphones like the Sennheiser HD600/700/800 this amp will knock your socks off especially if you bypass the dropping resistor (simple no tools procedure that Emotiva recommends). There's almost NO amps on the market and definitely none at anywhere close the price of the A-100 that has this level of headphone power. To match it, you would need something like the Schiit Ragnarok
