I have a TA/100 BasX amp that I absolutely love. But I want the warmth and dimension of a tube pre-amp. This is the one that I have in mind: Pro-Ject Tube Box DS2Would I be able to hook up this pre-amp to my TA-100 and disable the on-board phono pre-amp?

Connect the ds2 to CD or aux input on the Ta-100. And you should be good.

I think the only true way is if the unit has the 'U' pins that can be pulled thus separating the pre section from the amp section. Then your Pre OUT can go the the Main Amp IN.

Just something to keep in mind....
I have no experience whatsoever with that particular tube phono preamp... However tube circuitry in general tends to have a higher noise floor than good quality solid state gear... And that really counts with phono preamps - where you're applying a lot of gain to a very small signal... Because of this the noise floor on many tube phono preamps is audible.
A good tube phono preamp should still have a noise floor that's lower than the surface noise of vinyl itself... However you may be better off pairing it with a relatively high output cartridge rather than the opposite...
