Hello, I'm the original owner or an XMC-1 which was recently sold. The new owner encountered an issue which might require repair, so I sent an email to Emotiva customer support to request warranty transfer. I was informed that the warranty has expired and that the unit only had a 1-year warranty. The XMC-1 in question is a Factory Renewed unit purchased in mid July 2016. Prior to the purchase, I exchanged emails with Grayson Harper of Emotiva, who answered some of my questions. This is what he wrote to me (original email can be forwarded by request): "Our factory renewed units are units that were purchased new and were returned within the 30 day trial period. These units come with the same warranty as our new units. These units may have slight blemishes, but will be in like new condition in performance. The main difference between our new units and the factory renewed stock will be that the factory renewed stock will not have a 30 day trial period and will be final sale"
As you can see, I was specifically told these units come with the same warranty as new ones, which meant 5 years (at the time of purchase). I would not have bought it if the warranty was only 1 year.
I quoted this Email to Customer Support but got no reply. I would appreciate if someone can help, as the 5-year period is nearing its end.
Thanks!
