Does anyone here have tested or know the impact of the Dirac 3.1.1 to the BM bug? Improve? Same? Worsen? I would be on side until the BM bug gets resolved. It's the same.

I am one of those people who like to setup once and forget about it and just enjoy the system. I do not want to spend hours/days running REW/Dirac to eek out the last bit of performance or to fix an issue created by bad firmware.
With that said what configuration of subs would be the best option for a 7.2 system with all speakers set to small. I can live with just using surround mode and no Dirac until a firmware fix shows up.
Thanks

That will make the BM only a dB or two high, but it will be livable. BTW, Ron Popiel passed away a month ago. "Set it, and forget it".

She had never seen it - great movie. We also both watched 3:10 to Yuma for the first time as well. That movie sounds great in DTS:X at -15 dB. Bass was super punchy (maybe a little too punchy due to the BM bug )!

”I am one of those people who like to setup once and forget about it and just enjoy the system. I do not want to spend hours/days running REW/Dirac to eek out the last bit of performance or to fix an issue created by bad firmware.” That’s me! 10 years ago, I turned my Sub. 45 degrees to get the plate amp. Out and ship it to the West Coast for a replacement. Beyond that it stays where it is perfectly configured to suit my tastes.

Sorry for the Emotiva newcomer question here, but I am using this method and is there a recommended input for the y-adapter? I know it shouldn't matter, but asking anyway. Thanks.

I know it shouldn't matter, but asking anyway. Thanks. If using just a single subwoofer output, choose the Center Sub output and select Mono. And to answer the question not asked, if using two subwoofer outputs, use the Left & Right Sub Outputs and select Dual Mono.

The question I intended to ask, if using a single sub output (y-adapter) for dual subs, which output should be used? I thought center - LFE but that option doesn’t even show up in the set up menu. Seems using a single output for gain-summed dual subs is the preferred method of connection for these processors at the moment. EDIT: seems you indeed answered my question without me realizing it…. Thanks

Thanks Just to nail another coffin closed. LFE will not show up as an option if there is nothing in the system to provide Bass Management for Small channels. This is why the Center Sub output should be setup as Mono so it handles Bass Management and the .1 LFE.

That's great news! Been hoping for an update, especially after the whole ASR thing that's been going on...

Is it weird that the first thing I thought of when I saw the title of this thread was "G3P Elevated Bowel Movement and LFE Issue"? 🤣🤣🤣

BTW good progress is being made on BM. I know there is probably no answer to this but - has Emotiva give, or can Emotiva give, any estimated time frame as to when an updated firmware fix would be available for this? It has been quite a few months since the last firmware so it would be great to know if this was coming within the next month or two. I don't have many chances to run Dirac and want to wait to do so until this is hopefully fixed, it would be nice to know when to look for this. I know the answer is probably that there is no known date yet but still..

I know the answer is probably that there is no known date yet but still.. The elevated bass does not affect Dirac measurements or filter creation. The processor adds the bass after the fact. So if you run Dirac now you will be able to use the filters with any new firmware release that might fix the bass issue.
