Joseph Michael "Dusty" Hill (May 19, 1949 – July 28, 2021)was an American musician, singer, and songwriter, best known as the bassist and secondary lead vocalist of the American rock group ZZ Top; he also played keyboards with the band. R.I.P. Heard a statistic I didn't know. ZZ Top is the longest band still playing with its original members from day one.

Rest in Peace Dusty... that is a MAJOR bummer... Yes it is Keith, such a loss at far too young an age. The same seemingly simple hip related injury and then complications that ended my grandmother's life. The Rock & Roll heaven bass line will benefit from your Blues Shuffle. RIP Gary

R.I.P. Dusty, I first saw ZZ Top live in concert before they had their famous beards, I was a 16 year old sophomore in high school though my girlfriend then who was with me was an 18 year old senior. This was at the Long Beach Arena 1974.

Truly an end of an era. I've so enjoyed their music throughout my life, and will continue to do so.

I've been to 5 ZZ Top concerts over the years. My first opportunity sometime in the 80's cost around $7.50, my last was at the Saenger Theater here in beautiful downtown Mobile, AL. The tickets were about $125 per seat. Their performance in the Saenger was intimate, powerful, and absolutely electric. I warned friends that if you ever wanted to see zz Top in a live performance, you should not wait. Best money I ever spent. Hurts my heart to realize I will never hear that little ol' band from Texas as the power trio ever again. Life is short. Tell someone dear to you that you love them. RIP Dusty Hill.

I never cared for that band but I got a kick out of the way they looked. I do remember when they would do an occasional appearance on the Johnny Carson show Wayback when. They would put Carson in honorary ZZ Top costume and he would join the band very funny

The coolest band in all the land- they redefined "cool" One of the best shows I ever saw was New Years Eve in Dallas and the Tarrant County concert with Rory Gallagher was very good. The 3 kings of music still playing in TX are Willie, George Strait & ZZ Top (and of course RIP Stevie Ray) The New Years show Billy & Dusty came out on stage in powered blue & powered pink tux's wearing matching ball caps with bills about a foot long. lmao. They blew the top off Reunion Area. FANTASTIC 3 hour show and don't remember the encore
I been up, I been down Take my word, my way around I ain't askin' for much I said, Lord, take me downtown I'm just lookin' for some tush
I been bad, I been good Dallas, Texas, Hollywood I ain't askin' for much I said, Lord, take me downtown I'm just lookin' for some tush
Take me back way back home Not by myself, not alone I ain't askin' for much I said, Lord, take me downtown I'm just lookin' for some tush
RIP Texan btw, it was waaay more fun watching the babes in super short Shorts on stage than any Longhorn steer. Oh Baby...
