… 🎸 Ok, bass players too! 😁 They obviously know how to make pretty things (of which I have several), but I didn’t take this seriously until I saw the association with Mobile Fidelity, certainly someone who knows a bit about vinyl. As I am in the market I’ll look a bit, but probably more than I want to spend … maybe 🤷♂️ Those in the know will recognize that this is a 60’s design with 3-color sunburst, as opposed to the 50’s 2-color. My vintage ’65 Strat started out very close to this, though I doubt they’re using nitro cellulose lacquer preferred by guitarists. I’m not familiar with the cartridge, but all in all it looks like they’ve done their homework. Hope somebody reviews one, it’s not out of reach and if it’s well built and performs, I could be persuaded. There will be 1000 made. www.fender.com/en-US/lifestyle/gifts-novelty/fender-x-mofi-precisiondesk-turntable/9190021010.htmlb

I started out with the matching piece, bought it just before 8th grade graduation — I call this ‘Bruce and his date’, you know, the one you mom takes at the front door before you go to the prom! (note the 3-color sunburst) … and I just bought this that I customized in the Fender Mod shop, my take on a 50’s look Strat, including 2-color sunburst and single ply pickguard.

Pitch control was pretty standard on direct drive TT’s, I had one of the venerable Technics SP10s, but you don’t see it much on belt drives anymore, this one, or my current Thorens included.

The tuning fork! Oh yeah, I remember some guys having one on board. Behind the drums, I had no use for it

The turntable, I think they sold 1000 of them in 24 hours! Either that or they’re only going to sell them through select dealers. My local mom & pop Fender store said they can’t get them, could possibly be a ‘custom shop type thing,

Yeah, did kinda sting, expensive but pretty cool. However it doesn’t say sold out, there may be some dealers who will get them. Have a couple Fender contacts who are delving.

They are a Custom Shop dealer, in fact the Custom Shop Fenders are what they sell lots of. edit: oops, I called it guitar gallery, but it's Music Gallery. It's almost all guitars, all kinds.

I called the owner of the store I posted about above. He called his Fender rep and the Custom Shop, neither of whom had heard about the turntable but checked into it, then called him back and said the word is that it's only available online.

Thanks for checking Scott! I’ve called another Fender custom shop, and also Fender, she wouldn’t tell me where but said some were being shipped to dealers. I think MoFi was the dealer and got an allotment, Fender also had an allotment, and they sold that out (online). I also bet some purchased several and that they might be showing up at a premium. I should have jumped when I had the chance, but wanted to do some research, I snoozed … I loosed.
