When doing the sound level test at 75db to setup my XMC-1, I had to adjust the sub level of my SVS SB-4000 all the way down to -12db and it was still too loud. I then reduced my volume on the sub itself to get the last bit needed. I am using a single balanced input to it. . Would it be better to adjust the sub volume instead of dropping the XMC-1 to -12db?
My mic is on the way to run dirac this weekend. Just wondering what's the best thing to do with the sub since the output is very high

What I typically do is to set the gain on the subwoofer at 10 o'clock (if it's a dial control) and then run calibration. This typically yields me a trim level on the processor side somewhere in the neighborhood of -5 which is where I find to be ideal. Dirac should fine tune from there.

I only have a digital volume control from what I see in these settings. Checked in with SVS, they said to set it at 50% volume which is -10 so I will start there
