My Mac has thunderbolt or USB connectors. I know I need to convert either thunderbolt or USB-A to HDMI, which path are you using?

All of my Mac minis and the MacBook Pro have HDMI, so I don't need an adapter. I've also used my MacBook Air using a Thunderbolt (USB-C) to HDMI adapter with no issues.
