Hi,
Just bought an asus laptop running Intel i7 and windows 11 home. I've installed dirac live and it seems like the buttons aren't clickable. It finds my xmc 1 ip address, pops up the question and i click ok. Pop-up closes but app remains unresponsive.
Tried running in compatibility modes of win10 and win8 but it still behaves the same.
Any ideas how to get it working...?
Thanks

My understanding is that the software doesn't support Win 11, only up to Win 10.
I've installed virtualbox with Win 10 for using dirac SW... It's a bit disappointing that we cannot use the standard Dirac software.

Any recommendation?

The custom version of Dirac Live that goes with the XMC-1 does not run on Windows 11. However, while we haven't tried it here, and don't officially support it, we have heard that it can be made to work with Windows 10 via VirtualBox.
And I can offer one or two suggestions (although it would probably help if you said exactly what error message you got).
With ANY sort of virtual environment like VirtualBox you may have to configure the ability of the virtual device to access physical resources on the computer. In this case, that means that the Windows 10 virtual machine must be able to access both the physical USB port, and the "Windows audio input device" that is the microphone. And, of course, it must be able to communicate with the processor over the network.
I'm not specifically familiar with VirtualBox on Windows 11.... but this may require that you make one or two settings to enable that access. (This is in addition to the fact that both Windows 10 and Windows 11 have "privacy" and "security" settings that may also block access to the microphone.)
If you are receiving an error when you attempt to set the initial levels on the first speaker then this suggests that perhaps "the program cannot hear the microphone".
However, if you're getting past that point, and the error is occurring during the first test run, it may simply be that the software is working as it should, and you need to adjust your levels. (Or, if you haven't set your speaker configuration correctly IN THE DIRAC PRESET on the processor, it may simply be trying to test speakers that aren't there.)
My understanding is that the software doesn't support Win 11, only up to Win 10. I've installed virtualbox with Win 10 for using dirac SW... It's a bit disappointing that we cannot use the standard Dirac software. Hello: I've installed virtualbox as well, but there is an error message while Dirac produce tones on the first position (SS). Is there any chance that we can just get an updated version of Dirac Live that is supported on Win11? I mean... I just bought my (admittedly refurb) XMC-1 this year (Jan 2022). I understand that the XMC-1 isn't the newest thing out there, but I'm looking at buying Dirac Live today, and I'm now met with dealing with Virtualbox (which may or may not work). I'm all out of Win10 machines!
Please...

Running it on a Win10VM as Keith suggests above is probably your best bet.

Ah, so maybe I misunderstood. Because KeithL said "The custom version of Dirac Live that goes with the XMC-1 does not run on Windows 11", I read that to mean that it's just our Emo version that's not supported on Win11. However, when I go directly to the Dirac site, it seems that they only support up to Win10 (and therefore not Win11) for all versions of Dirac Live (not just the version for the XMC-1). So it really *is* a question for Dirac, and not something that have already done for themselves or others. At least that's what I'm getting from the Dirac site itself.
I'll see if I can get a Win10VM up and running.
Thanks.

I see on Dirac website FAQ page they support Windows 11. Any word on our Dirac working in Window 11 any time soon?

The RMC-1, RMC-1L, and XMC-2 all use the current version of Dirac Live - Dirac Live 3.xx . This version seems to work fine on Windows 11. We have lots of people running it on Windows 11 with no problems. (Note that, depending on your computer, you may have to find and disable both "microphone privacy" and "AI microphone enhancement" options.)
The XMC-1 uses a customized version of Dirac Live 1.0 . THAT is an older version, which DOES NOT work on Windows 11 . And, since it is also discontinued, we DO NOT expect that it will ever be updated to do so.
We have also NEVER gotten the XMC-1 version to work in any of Windows 11's "compatibility modes"... We have also never tried to run it in any sort of virtual machine like VMWare... And we strongly suspect that will not work either... Therefore, while you are welcome to try to do so, as far as we know it will not.

I see on Dirac website FAQ page they support Windows 11. Any word on our Dirac working in Window 11 any time soon? Where do you see this? The Dirac Live download page still says: Supported operating systems: Windows 10, macOS 10.14+ (not that it would change the answer for this product)

View AttachmentThe customized version was for the XMC-1 only. Dirac had different versions for the different processors and could only be used on a particular brand of processor. They since went to a single version for all processors. Dirac 3.x cannot be used with an XMC-1 and Dirac 1.x cannot be used with the Gen 2 processors. You can't even get the XMC-1 version any longer.

Yep true that. I contacted the sales team recently, and they confirmed.

I ran into this problem after installing the XMC-1 Dirac on my AV computer that is running Windows 11 pro. I lugged my last Windows 10 computer into my AV closet and now am getting a message about my validation limit being reached for Dirac. How do I get the validation on the Windows 11 computer removed so I can install it onto an older Windows 10 computer?

How do I get the validation on the Windows 11 computer removed so I can install it onto an older Windows 10 computer? Okay, I uninstalled Dirac off the Windows 11 computer and it let me install it on the Windows 10 Pro machine. However, I still cannot find the XMC-1 on the network and nothing is showing up in the drop down. I can ping the IP address of the XMC-1 from the Windows 10 Pro machine. I can access the XMC-1 through the app on my phone so I know the XMC-1 is talking to the network. I turned off the firewall and ran the program as administrator. I also tried compatibility modes. Still no luck in finding the XMC-1. Any ideas on what to try next?
Thanks, Ian
