Having retired this year, I have a business account at my local credit union in the name of my business. I've always done my eBay transactions through the business account.
Upon retirement, I've shut down my business (did not renew my LLC with the State). I'd like to shut down the business account by moving all my eBay business to the new trust checking account that my wife and I have set up. The Credit Union considers the trust checking account to be a "Business Checking" one.
I transferred my PayPal business from the previous business account to the Trust checking account without issue and I'm receiving payments from PayPal to the new account. eBay, however, absolutely refuses to identify (or to transfer to) the new account.
If I enter the correct routing number and account number, eBay says that the account can't be verified, and goes no further.
I went through three layers of eBay chat help, and the best they could recommend was "Try it again in 48 hours." I did - same result.
So I asked the Credit Union. They suggested adding a zero digit at the start of the account number or else adding a three at the end of the account number.
With the zero at the front of the account number, eBay accepts the account and says that they're going to deposit two small amounts that I need to identify for them. But I never get the deposits.
With the three at the end of the account number, the same thing happens.
With both a zero at the front and a three at the year, eBay won't accept the account at all.
As mentioned, I know that the Trust Checking account WILL allow deposits and debits because my PayPal account does so routinely. What's keeping me from connecting to eBay?
Thanks - Boomzilla
FACTOID: The PayPal account uses the new Trust Checking account's number fine without prefix or suffix digits, and they're successfully transferring money to me.
