That one audio setup is worth more than our house, family vehicle and any other belongings we own, actually much more as those are US dollars and my belongings are in Canadian dollars hahaha Family + Home=Priceless Materialistic bragging = worthless Comforting to know most of us haven’t lost our minds just yet!

That is a very impressive array of outlandishly expensive components for sure. I’m sure it sounds fantastic but in the 21st-century immersive audio formats from multiple channels for music rule the day. Intelligent immersive, audio trumps expensive 2 channel stereo, listening by a country mile…… Price be damned. And then there's Capital Audio Fest. Not ONE room set up for anything more than 2-channel. I'd say 80% of what was being played was vinyl ... just a couple playing CD's or streaming. And the retail floor was boxes and boxes and boxes of vinyl. I went to where the Chesky Records table was supposed to be and found an array of maybe 50 high res CD's and Blu-rays scattered on a table ... no sign and nobody at the booth. …..Of course. The fest is a targeted audience and has little to do with the general listening population

All that money and no cable risers? Can't believe that they are just leaving those cables lying on the carpet like that. 🙄

Oh yeah obviously haha, just amazing that one can spend that to listen to music, would be cool to heat it to see what the system actually sounds like, I'm still happy with mine

All that money and no cable risers? Can't believe that they are just leaving those cables lying on the carpet like that. 🙄 You know, I think cable risers get a bad rap, probably because most of the time they’re sold as an accessory that makes an audible improvement to your system, however, many buy them just because they like the way they look. Personally I haven’t used them, but imagine my dad making me little wooden men who snapped together, but maybe had some odd pieces of wood left over and wondered what to do with them (my dad was not an audiophile, but did have the first stereo record player I ever heard!). So some audiophile woodworker (like me) looked at that piece of wood and thought about the unkempt path his speaker wires took from their speakers to their amps, and the cable lifter was born. There are some systems that look very ‘finished’ when their cables are well managed, and in some cases, cable lifters may be part of that look. I don’t immediately assume the guy is bananas for wasting money on something that likely makes no audible difference — I do lots of things with my system (like building my Credenza) just because I think it looks good. I’ve occasionally looked at the speaker cables coming from my Maggies and thought ‘maybe I can make this a bit nicer’ — obviously I don’t think about it a lot because I’ve had my current Maggie’s about 15 years and still no cable lifters (my wife might say I’m just procrastinating). So I speak in defense of the lowly cable lifter and its designation as one of the prominent snake oil salesman in the audio world! They’re just stylin’ dude!

With, as listed, 314250$ for a 'system' no mention is made of WHERE. such a system would need minimum 5000 cubic feet. More would be nice....to a point. You'll also need a couple grand in Electrical modifications in the form of at least a 50 amp dedicated box TO the system. Include a Brick Wall arrestor setup. Room treatments to taste.....but bass traps might be nice.
That 300 Grand is JUST the start.....
