I was trying to put it politely, you have been repeating more or less the same thing for some time, people come here to help or get help, you no longer seem interested in either. There was just a major firmware update that was supposed to fix issue that were not. A number of other people on this forum are saying the same thing. What are you expecting exactly? I’m not expecting anything.

As the HDCP standards have changed, it causes incompatibilities between players and displays. Though in my case, it's not at all consistent. Possible but doesn't strike me as likely; you could test it with older BR players and confirm.

I have 4 BluRay Players: Sony - about 4 years old Panasonic - about 3 years old Reavon x 2 - 24-18 months old None of them work with the RMC-1L. They ALL work direct or through the Denon. Like I said, it's a weird omne.

Are you getting more mileage from complaining than getting the problem fixed?

Yeah. It's super fishy. I think it's got something to do with the older HDMI board. Gonna send it back for service and see if the updated board fixes this, though I'm reticent to send it if a newer board might imminently be available.

So I'm now moving on to the next step.

Bravo! - insert applause emoji here... ...oh boy.... Hey squiddy. Don't ink yourself now - The problems you presented were never about FW. It was obvious. You were given options. You wasted 7 months.

The gold standard here for many (because it currently takes a bar of gold to buy one), the Oppo 203, is older than all of those having been released in 2017 I believe. Another variable could be the specific discs being tested, but hopefully it’s nothing unusual.

Looks like video does work on the RMC. The question pretty much boils down to what is different between the BR players and your streaming devices. This is a question I've asked many times. It seems to have something to do with HDCP - High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection. As the HDCP standards have changed, it causes incompatibilities between players and displays. Though in my case, it's not at all consistent. I can plug any source I have directly into the projector or monitor with no issue. I can plug any source I have into a borrowed Denon AVR and have no issue. I plug a BluRay player into my RMC1-L routing to a monitor or my projector andI cannot pass video, other than a momentary flash of picture. I had the same issue you described above even after resetting and reinitializing all my equipment chain (projector, RMC-1L, players...). The thing that saved the day was changing the setting about "deep black" in my projector. I guess there was a hard coded data (at a hardware level) in the projector's EDID memory that was affecting the HDCP communication between the projector and the RMC-1L. Finally, changing back and forth the "Deep Black" setting in my project saved the day for me.

I have the Oppo 203 and tested it last night with the new upgrade and it worked just fine. However I will add that I only tested with HDMI output into the RMC-1L. In the past there was some glitchy behavior if I ran coax and HDMI both into the RMC-1L. One slightly annoying factor though running PCM via the HDMI Audio only output created a 1-2 second delay between tracks, meaning the audio of any track would skip the first second. Not a big deal because I use my AudioLab CDT 6000 usually anyway. The point being, assuming you have your other blu ray players set correctly, its possible that multiple digital connections from your player to the RMC might be causing some conflicts.

Anyone using a HD FURY VRROOM with the XMC2 and 3.1 firmware? I cant get any audio from the audio out on the vrroom. I verified the vrroom hdmi audio out is working by plugging into another device and getting audio. The only way I can get audio out of the VRROOM after 3.1 is to use the Arcana Arc output but then I am limited to ARC. Can anyone with one of those units let me know if they have had any luck? Or anyone have any suggestions? All my devices work fine if I go direct into the XMC but then my PC and PS5 wont get the 120hz for my LG C1. Trying to get back to the best of both worlds.

Has anyone tried to backup their settings after updating to 3.1? My RMC-1 Definitely knows if a USB Stick is inserted or not but when I attempt a backup with the USB stick in it is no longer writing the backup to the USB Stick. When the Backup is complete it shows Internal:Done and the USB Stick never shows activity. - I've tried moving the existing backup to a new folder.
- I've tried formatting the usb stick.
- I am going to try a new usb stick later but I highly suspect this won't make a difference at all.
@keithl any thoughts? Backing up settings off machine is pretty important to me. Its certainly saved me some grief in the past.

I just confirmed that backup to USB is working for me - post FW3.1. When the backup was complete, the screen showed USB: Done. I used the same stick I used yesterday - pre FW3.1. I checked the stick on my computer and the new BU files are there. Yesterday's files were put in a separate folder before I did today's BU.

USB backup is working fine for me, too.

Another variable could be the specific discs being tested, but hopefully it’s nothing unusual. I still think it's a matter of going into one of the players and forcing them into 1080p only mode - basically making it 1.4 compliant. But to do that, you have to hook it up to some display that works first. Those streaming devices default to that, I'd wager. I bet a non-4k capable BR player would work.

The update has just been completed on my XMC-2 and I have the same "updating fonts" bug. Much longer boot time. Please fix it.
