Anyone using a HD FURY VRROOM with the XMC2 and 3.1 firmware? I cant get any audio from the audio out on the vrroom. I verified the vrroom hdmi audio out is working by plugging into another device and getting audio. The only way I can get audio out of the VRROOM after 3.1 is to use the Arcana Arc output but then I am limited to ARC. Can anyone with one of those units let me know if they have had any luck? Or anyone have any suggestions? All my devices work fine if I go direct into the XMC but then my PC and PS5 wont get the 120hz for my LG C1. Trying to get back to the best of both worlds. I just tried it (with my Vrroom) and it worked fine.

Can anyone please help me out. I have had my receiver for just under 2 years now (XMC-2) I have even used the USB for updating back when i first got it.. Now, I cannot get any USB to be recognized. I have tried 7 different brands, followed all the guides. Powered off, on, hard power etc. No matter what if I go to Update, USB it says no USB found.. Thanks for any help!

I'm using the HDMI Audio Out on the Vrroom. Audio Caps are from Tx0 Nothing fancy, mostly defaults.

Updated on release day. No issues updating. If fully powering down I get the updating fonts message. I just use the VRO and no issues. The A4K had Atmos issues initially but a reboot of the A4K fixed it. I get NO pops or clicks like before. It use to be really bad with Loudness on but now it works fine. So far I have found no issues with everything I have thrown at it but I am only using A4K and a 4K player.

PaulBe and geebo Thank for testing things. I picked up a new USB Stick while I was out running errands and we are back in business. I'm not sure why it seemingly stopped liking the USB stick I've been using with it considering it certainly updated from it and backed up to it but we seem to be in good shape now. I'll take the win

OK, loaded it 4 times as per the directions because no audio via HDMI. analog inputs ok, Digital OK. I run a Lumagen so all audio goes to HDMI input 1 (tried others)on the rmc1. But if I switch the input to front analog I get full digital HDMI audio from HDMI1 WTF? ? Nice job

Some very slight quieter pops and clicks but vastly improved with audio lock. Not enough time to see if the complete audio drop out experienced with Disney+ requiring power off is resolved. How has Disney+ been working since the update? I think this is the primary one that still hoses up our system on occasion. I will update you after pushing it hard tonight and the next couple days streaming Star Wars content with the family. Catching up on some episodes we are behind on. It won't take long to know.

I use a really old 2GB stick formatted to fat32. Never any trouble. Any of those 7 sticks old and small size? Reformat and see if that helps? Mine happens to have a red light that comes in when plugged in as well.

So you have the update file in the root of the flash drive with no other files (backup files ok). Edit: FAT32 is the recommended flash drive format, though I believe ExFAT should work too.

At the risk of possibly insulting you which I am not trying to do, are you absolutely sure you have your USB thumb drive inserted thoroughly. I mentioned this because on occasion I have done just this same thing when working with them and sure enough that final nudge is all it takes for the drive to be recognized. Otherwise it might be a formatting incompatibility issue, assuming your XMC is not at fault with the proper port.

I updated as soon as it came out. I've had no problems: clicks are gone, switching HDMI channel glitches gone, it switches faster. I'm very pleased. /b

? Nice job Hmm this sounds similar to what I am experiencing with my Hd fury which I beleive serves the same purpose as the Lumagen. No audio from the hdmi audio out. BUT if I plug in audio out to XMC and then also plug in a cable from the arc on the tv to the arc on the XMC2 then when I select lets say hdmi 8 where I have the audio out from the HDMI switcher plugged in I magically get audio. But if I remove the arc cable between tv and xmc it stops even though I have selected HDMI 8 as my input on the XMC2. After more testing this evening I confirmed I can get full TRUEHD audio doing this method so the XMC must be getting the input from the audio out on the hdmi switcher as the xmc arc input only supports arc not earc so I wouldnt be able to get TRUEHD through that connection but some how having that arc cable connected allows the regular input to work. I will have to try mine set back up like how you have it and see if I can just set the input to analog and then remove the extra hdmi arc cable that should be needed. crazyness!

Your first unit has the older HDMI board and the second unit has the newer HDMI board. That's normal with this FW. geebo is correct, the HDMI file being used confirms this. If the HDMI file is “8.1 20/09/28” then the older 4K board is being used. If the HDMI file is “12.25 22/10/10” then the newer “eARC” 4K board is being used. Not sure of the exact dates, but I’m thinking if you bought your XMC-2/RMC-1L/RMC-1 after January 2022, then most likely your processor came with the hardware changed HDMI board that supports “eARC” which will be supported in an upcoming future firmware. My HDMI firmware is 10.3 21/10/12. Ordered and received mine December 2021. I have not seen this one mentioned anywhere. Anyone know if this is eARC ready?

So after another 3 FW updates no better. I have the older board too. I will get it to work then switch from HDMI to a digital input and then get nothing on the digital , switch back to HDMI again and lose that.

I just ran the 3.1 firmware update on my XMC-2. Everything seemingly ran perfectly. I backed up my setting both internally and to a USB stick prior. Thank goodness. After the update, after running the Factory reset the 2nd time of the process, the internal flash setting of the backed up settings were not found. Not good! I had to remove my USB, plug it back in, and then the menu option found it and restored setting from USB.
Other than this 1 glitch, everything appears to be working fine.

I had to remove my USB, plug it back in, and then the menu option found it and restored setting from USB. This USB Stick Refresh is something that has been necessary since FW2.5. Don't know why it's not always "seen" on the first try, but mine always sees the stick on a second try. The key elements are to remove the stick, and back out of the Menu. Then try again. It's like the Magic Gnome inside is sleeping and pulling the stick out wakes him up.
