I bought an RMC-1 for my theater the evening they were first released. While it had some very frustrating stability issues initially, those have long since been worked out. I liked the sound (and overall experience) with my RMC-1 so much that I have since bought an RMC-1L (and Emotiva XPA-7 amp) for my living room. It's total overkill for a 5.2 system, but I'm familiar with the hookup and operation and it sounds amazing, so what the heck, right? I listen to both systems pretty much every day (mostly audio in the living room, and movies in the theater; both with different mixes of equipment). And I haven't had ANY issues since the release of 3.2. And yes, I'm un-apologetically looking forward to the G4P upgrade. I'll be upgrading both units.

Overall I like my RMC-1 very much. I don’t have most of the issues some others have. I don’t get any pops, but every once and a blue moon I have issues with HDMI handshakes. Swapping inputs almost always fixes it. The RMC-1 does sound amazing compared to my older Marantz AV8802A. Especially in stereo there is no comparison.
I still have a Marantz down stairs for my living room. I like the built in Spotify connect. It’s perfect for just quickly playing music. I do wish Emotiva had something like that.

Hello! I’m a happy RMC-1 owner with a simple question. Within firmware 3.2, is there a display mode that will show what the “dialog Normalization” value is for any given Dolby digital stream (DD, DD+, TruHD) being ingested and decoded?
Thanks

Has anyone else had problems with eArc? After installing FW 3.2 I decided to give eArc a try with my Sony A80K TV. The problem is the XMC-2 will just randomly hang, sometimes every few days or sometimes several times a day. It requires a reboot from the rear power switch or a long hold on the front button to recover. The problem seems to be connected to turning off the TV with the XMC turned on. I have disabled all CEC controls in the XMC but still had problems.
A couple of days ago I turned off eArc and went back to just Arc, so far there has been no hangs and all seems to be working ok.

If you are only using eARC to stream, make sure you have Bravia Sync turned “OFF” and eARC set to “AUTO” in your A80K.

I'm using an LG C1 and since I figured out the settings on the TV, I haven't had a single problem with eARC or my RMC-1L after installing FW 3.2. Been very stable for me but I only use 3 sources (Apple TV, Oppo & Balanced In).

I was posting comments on the Next gen. page but I was curious if anyone on this thread had any suggestions. I originally bought my RMC1 from the bring out your dead sale and received the unit sometime in December which means it has all the latest boards and firmware 3.2.
Now as my to my original beef I talked about, HDMI switching. I am SURE I am not the only one with this issue and I was hoping for suggestions how to make that better. I have a Denon 760H I got from Costco with HDMI 2.1, it NEVER has HDMI switching issues. I NEVER have bleed from other HDMI sources. I have a Yamaha receiver, again with HDMI 2.1 and switches between sources perfectly and never bleeds through.
To explain once again, let's say I have tuned into HDMI 2, my HTPC so I can listen to music or watch video files. When I turn it on OR when I wake up the HTPC from it not being used for 10-15 minutes, sometimes I will see the Screen from my HDMI 1, my Verizon FIOS box, playing on the TV. You guys know the screen, hit OKAY to turn on etc. and no matter what HDMI source I switch to that FIOS screen is on all of them and I have to reboot the RMC1 to get it to be able change HDMI sources. Other times when I wake up my HTPC and there isn't bleed through the screen remains black even though the HTPC is clearly awake and operating. To fix that I have to reboot the HTPC to get the screen to show again.
Before you guys reply. I can always get the issue corrected eventually with a reboot or 2 or even just switching sources after a reboot. I was curious if there were better ways to make sure I don't have the issue at all or if there is something I am JUST not doing. I just want a little less hassle unit the NEW unit comes out completely bug free!!! :-)

It's configured quite normally, NOTHING fancy! All inputs going to each HDMI input and the only output is to my LG C9 OLED TV. It does not switch inputs without me switching. I actually get HDMI input on my HDMI 2-4. HDMI 1 Verizon FIOS, HDMI 2 HTPC PC, HDMI 3 REVON Blu-Ray player HDMI 4 Laser player with component to HDMI conversion.

I've never heard of anything like that, maybe someone else will have a suggestion.

Pretty much 100% on target, strange one, isn't it? I end up rebooting and all is well, so I make do, but it IS puzzling. As long as it "self corrects" I can live with it. A buddy of mine thinks it just takes time for the RMC1 to catch up with selections and wakeups. He just looks at it and is like what the heck is going on... I just don't know...

Try and document the things you do before it starts, if it is unusual they’ll have trouble reproducing it, and anything you can give them will help.

You just never know! Thanks for helping me! Just how to see where this goes.

Did this follow the fw update to 3.2 ?? Or was there something else changed or added to your system? And do you use VRO or LPS ?? If it did start after v3.2 you may consider getting a new download of the firmware and doing another update following the instructions closely.

I decided to give eArc at try again the day before yesterday and the hang problem came back the first time I tried to turn it on after using the system in eArc mode. I wonder if I have a problem with the HDMI board or some other hardware, probably time to call Emotiva.
