Yes I have comfirm the subwoofer works on another system just to make sure. If this were my system, I would do the following using low volume level at first and increasing the volume to an appropriate level - but no higher, then turn down the volume between tests. Always start with a low volume. Pull out ALL cables from the processor, including the power cable. Wait 5 minutes. Plug in power cable, HDMI out to tv, one HDMI cable for a source, and one interconnect cable from the Center Sub Output to subwoofer. Turn on the processor and setup for Small Fronts w/200Hz XO, Small Center w/200Hz XO, Center Sub MONO. Leave the sound mode setup as AUTO. Play 5.1 audio and verify that the processor is showing 5.1 coming in and any surround mode going out. If no sound from Center Sub, perform a Factory Reset, power down, switch off the Rear Power Switch for a couple minutes, power up and repeat the system setup above and then the sound test. If Center Sub output doesn't make any sound, then connect the subwoofer to a Front output and see if there is any sound from the subwoofer. If still no sound from subwoofer, connect a speaker to the Center Sub Output and retest. If no sound from Center Sub Output, try the Left Sub Output MONO and repeat the tests. If there is sound from a Front Channel using a speaker and then the subwoofer but still no sound from Center Sub or Left Sub outputs, then you have confirmation of the subwoofer outputs not working and need to contact Support. Thank you this will be my next step. I'll report back my findings.

Did some recabling today and when I was done, I must have missed the IR in cable, no remote control, couldn’t change the volume … what to do? Oh wait, what’s that big knob? A volume control !!! … how quaint 😎

Will the G4 upgrade help quell my RMC1-L frustrations...?

Has anyone else noticed this?
My RMC1-L is still suffering from system crashes and startup issues. I had this happen this weekend and in the process of restarting, I noticed this....
I use my HDMI cable with it's provided booster, powered via USB. I also connect the RMC1-L via ethernet. If I power down the RMC1-L and physically disconnect it from the power (as recommended by Emotiva to fix start-up issues), I have to disconnect both the HDMI and ethernet also. If I don't, I can see that one of the optical inputs ports glowing red and the ethernet port LED still active. It seems that power from either the ethernet or HDMI is preventing the RMC1-L from disconnecting from a power supply completely, preventing a clean restart. If I do not disconnect the HDMI and the ethernet, a restart just gets me back to a partially completed boot-up, which then hangs.
Is this a know issue? After all this time I now know exactly what I need to do to get my RMC1-L to boot up quickly, though it involves disconnecting cables and futzing around. But at least it works.

Yes... that can cause issues. What's happening is this... HDMI cables carry power... And, if you're feeding power into the HDMI cable from some outside source - like a separate "power tap" - power can "back feed" into our front panel through the HDMI cable... And this can actually "power" part of the front panel and keep it from fully shutting down... So, yes, if you use such a device, and you need "a real cold restart" then it would need to be disconnected. Has anyone else noticed this? As I supected Keith. I'm assuming this "backfeed" of power will be one of the many issues addressed in G4? What about ethernet? Does that apply for PoE too?

Another option - if you have all your AV gear on a seperate circuit or series of breakers into a seperate sub board ( or electrically isolated from the other house supplies in some other fashion) - then simply turn it all off after powering down your processor, wait a while - and then decide what sequence to kick it all back on... You could try bringing the processor back up first or last to start with.

My processor and source components are behind a Furman Power conditioner, though the USB power supply and ethernet are on an "always-on" circuit. I have to change that.

Some of my issues were resolved by placing a UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply with line conditioning) between the power outlet and the RMC-1. The RMC-1 does not have much forgiveness with momentary losses of power. This seems to cause some the operating system functions to malfunction. A restart of the processor resolves the issues. After connecting the RMC-1 to the UPS, I have not needed to restart the RMC-1. A whole house surge suppressor helped some other issues in my home with power surges. My power company has its issues with providing power without glitches... some of which are caused by underground faults and foreign materials bridging the overhead main power lines.

UPDATE: Putting my USB power supply behind the power conditioner helped. Still getting crashes but less if I power down at night and reboot fresh the next day. I'm really hoping all this is resolved in the G4. But then again, I thought the same going from the XMC-1 to the RMC-1L, then getting the upgraded HDMI board and numerous firmware updates. The prospect of hassle free operation that doesn't frustrate my wife when she's ready for TV chill-out-time and everything freezes is very alluring, yet stragely just outside my grasp.... though I live in hope. Now THAT is customer loyalty for you.....

I'll just throw my problem in. It is very problematic. I do not even leave my XMC 2 power or HDMI cables plugged in. When I go to use it I just replug everything and it usually works just fine. NEVER had these problem with: Krell, MCIntosh or Integra!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Come on get it Fixed. It is not fair to blame other entities (back feeding Power HUH?-that's a good one.) I am not a whiz, but there are these things called diodes.
On the Plus side. Baby sounds wonderful when all cylinders are firing.

I’ve sent the unit back a few times. But, as evident in these threads, the issues with the AV processor range are present and ongoing

Low Power Standby helps some but not all issues I regularly have.
(In addition to the other problems commonly cited on here, I have random warbling on varying speakers, incorrect audio routed to incorrect speakers (Usually the front L/R routed to the rear Surrounds so that the Front Centre and Rear Surrounds are providing a messed up start to a movie / TV show)
I still have to resort to the rear power switch at least once a week (and more) to get a proper cold boot.
There is nothing weird in my system - no unusual HDMI cables or switches or doublers and no exotic hardware - just a Shield Pro and a Windows HTPC connected to the XMC-2 via HDMI and an HDMI / ARC output Cable to the TV ARC HDMI input.
All audio is bitstreamed to the XMC-2 (Dolby or DTS) so it is 100% certain that it's the XMC-2 that is doing the incorrect speaker routing / high pitch warbling. It's a lemon of a processor, even after 7 years of development.

But, as evident in these threads, the issues with the AV processor range are present and ongoing I only asked because I haven’t had any operational issues that prevents me from watching something since the first week when my HDMI cables were not compatible. Must be frustrating…I feel you and yes I would have gotteb rid of my XMC2 if I had the same experience. I use my Logitech to turn my unit on and it works every time until I turn it off. Yes there are some idiosyncratic moments but it’s not even worth mentioning. Hopefully all of the G4 will have a consistent user experience.

What happens if you don't unplug in your HDMI cables and what is at the other end of those cables?
Read above: I have had most of these issues> at the end of the cables are the usual: PC --mainly for streaming Blu_Ray, Direct TV Receiver, I am using the same devices I used in my Krell without problem. I bought the Emotiva because of the desire for the new surround sounds.
If I don't unplug, the Unit F/U when I turn it back on. Recently, HDMI 2 input shows on the screen not matter which button I pick. Sometimes the unit reads incoming Atmos, but out going signal PCM.......

What is your firmware version?

I did a factory reset the first time it happened. I will try that again. Firmware 3.2. Since I have unplugged Ins and Outs during "standby" (manual standby, hee hee). I have not had any problems, that I can tell. The only issue (when I cold reboot) is that the signal from my HTPC says Dolby Atmos IN, but PCM is OUT. I use all stereo to get any kind of surround. Thanks for your responses R
