Try unplugging for 20-30 mins. That gives the PS and everything onboard time to completely drain. After that, you're gonna need to contact Emotiva.

It's time to contact Emotiva support to see if they have any other suggestions. If they can't guide you to a fix they can arrange to return the unit for repair. Just to be clear, when you say 'it just keeps spinning' are you referring to the big blue circle around the volume knob? Does the 'EMOTIVA' show up on the front panel display and does the progress line move along under it? And get stuck at some point during the reboot?

Just keeps spinning, and saying it's starting. But doesn't start. Talked to Emo, and sounds like I have to ship it back.

I asked about that. He said months before they are ready. I hope it is a quick turn around.

If its not out by end of July - it's probably end of the year. Looks like there's another promise blown in the wind...
I hope you get yours back soon.

I remember being hopeful of a Christmas release date last year at this time.

My unit is on the way back. Here is what they did. Flashed ECC-1 Board. Replaced power supply board. Up graded4K non-eARC HDMI board to current 4KeARC HDMI board. Hope it works good for years to come.

Hi,
I recently moved my RMC-1L into a cabinet and realized that the unit produces a significant amount of heat when it is on standby with video remains on mode. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

Hi, I recently moved my RMC-1L into a cabinet and realized that the unit produces a significant amount of heat when it is on standby with video remains on mode. Anyone else experiencing the same thing? The RMC-1L consumes about 38 watts. If you put it in a cabinet without airflow, it's going to get warm. You can save a few watts and a little heat by turning off the display.

Anyone else experiencing the same thing? The RMC-1L will draw only a few watts less in VRO than when it's fully on. You could add some fans from AC Infinity to help with airflow.

This is pretty cool for people who use their Macs to stream or watch video, but it would be nice to see something like this on TV. Probably the number one thing people ask for on TV is 'bitstream', or native passthrough. This sounds like just that, though only for Atmos.

Thank you for the responses. One more question, has anyone used RMC-1L with Savant controller? It seems to work with VRO but not Lowest Power? Also having issues with Apple TV connection and not getting picture or sound.

Also having issues with Apple TV connection and not getting picture or sound. Not familiar with the Savant, but if it uses network protocols (IP) as opposed to IR, then Lowest Power won't work because the NIC is not active in that state. Apple TV however is quite common, and while it has its quirks, works well for many people here. With no picture or sound, I'd suggest starting with cables, or a different HDMI port, and standard troubleshooting. Edit: To be more accurate, if the Savant uses IP, you won't be able to turn the RMC-1L on with it while in LPS (low power standby), but once it's running it should work fine. The RMC will power on with both IR and wired IR when in LPS, do you have any way to send that?

Thank you. That explains. I have IR but I will put fans in the cabinet and leave VRO - don't have the patience for rebooting every time.

Anyone have any issues with zone 2 sounding staticky? Not sure if that’s a word but I just hooked up zone2 with outdoor speakers so I can listen to music while I’m in the pool.
However, it’s not sounding too good with static noise. I may have some other options but wanted to check in before I reached out to emotiva to see if this is a known issue. Thanks.

I remember that being reported in an early firmware, zone 2 static, or some distortion. I also seem to remember it was worse if you didn’t use ‘Follow Main’, or maybe the opposite. As I remember though, that particular issue was solved sometime back.

Hi all, Has anybody see the latest sound info display on RMC series when DD+ Atmos contents is playing from Netflix, Disney, Amazon via Apple TV? It starts show TrueHD as it is from BD. Has anyone heard that Apple TV change any sound stream type? Normally it is not possible to play such higher bitrate stream can be played through internet, at least my short knowledge.

View AttachmentI don’t think that’s new behavior, the G4P, and some other processors, have always incorrectly reported TrueHD as the source. I believe a few AVRs, maybe D&M and others, more properly identify the stream, though I don’t remember what they report.
