Hi all, Has anybody see the latest sound info display on RMC series when DD+ Atmos contents is playing from Netflix, Disney, Amazon via Apple TV? It starts show TrueHD as it is from BD. Has anyone heard that Apple TV change any sound stream type? Normally it is not possible to play such higher bitrate stream can be played through internet, at least my short knowledge. View AttachmentI don’t think that’s new behavior, the G4P, and some other processors, have always incorrectly reported TrueHD as the source. I believe a few AVRs, maybe D&M and others, more properly identify the stream, though I don’t remember what they report. It isn't new behavior for Atmos encoded DD+. It's been like this for some time now.

Anyone have any issues with zone 2 sounding staticky? Not sure if that’s a word but I just hooked up zone2 with outdoor speakers so I can listen to music while I’m in the pool. However, it’s not sounding too good with static noise. I may have some other options but wanted to check in before I reached out to emotiva to see if this is a known issue. Thanks. I remember that being reported in an early firmware, zone 2 static, or some distortion. I also seem to remember it was worse if you didn’t use ‘Follow Main’, or maybe the opposite. As I remember though, that particular issue was solved sometime back. I just hooked up my bluesound directly to the amp and bypassed the xmc2. Since it’s outdoors, it’s not critical listening so the DAC from the bluesound is good enough and it sounds much better than zone 2 with static so all good. Thank you!

No, for my RMC, since I use this with AppleTV, it never shows TrueHD, always DD+ Atmos. It start shows “TrueHD” just few days ago. That is why I wondering what happend.

Ok, but I’m sure we discussed this years ago — and specifically with TV as that’s what I also use — so seeing TrueHD may be new for your RMC, but not for others. I’ll search a bit and see if I can find it. Edit: Heres part of a discussion from about five years back: emotivalounge.proboards.com/post/1013958/thread

Good morning- I did something, not sure exactly what I did, but I know I do not know how to undo it.
I am still getting familiar with my XMC-2 processor, especially how to use the different sound modes. When I go to Main Zone in the menu and select Auto or anything else listed there, whatever option I choose does not stay, it will change at some point. I can't figure out why this happens.
Now here is where I am not sure what I did to make the following happen. I thought that I first made the above selection under Setup in the menu and then I chose to lock the set setup in hopes that the sound mode would no longer change to something I did not want it to be. I can no longer see the Setup option in the menu even after doing a hard reboot. Does anyone know how to get this option back?
Also, is there a way to change sound modes on the fly? Sometimes I like to hear what something sounds like when up mixed in Neural X for example, but I don't see an option to do this.
I can't find any resolution in the manual, so I am reaching out here. Thank you!

Thank you! The 'mode' button on the remote will change on the fly to different audio modes that are available, limited by the incoming signal and the speaker preset you have assigned to that input. Changes made there or in 'main zone' should stick at least until an input change, power cycle or you make a change. As to not being able to get into the main menu I don't know. Are you saying that if you go to 'menu > setup > inputs > whatever input > ' you are not able to make adjustments to that input for 'speaker preset' '5.1' or '2.0'? Are the options greyed out or is the whole setup menu unavailable? Not sure I'm following you.

Thank you! I am able to get to the Main Menu, however, Setup is no longer listed as an option. It's not greyed out, it's just not there anymore.

Note that there is a way to actually "lock out" the Setup Menu so that it doesn't show up in the menu. It's in the manual, and there is a special key-combination to unlock it, but it's not something that's likely to happen accidentally. The 'mode' button on the remote will change on the fly to different audio modes that are available, limited by the incoming signal and the speaker preset you have assigned to that input. Using the Emo remote, when you push 'menu' you should get options by pushing the up/down buttons... MAIN ZONE, INFORMATION, SETUP... etc. Are you not able to get to setup that way?

I'll look through the manual for the key combo to see if that is the fix.

As Keith said its not likely that you locked yourself out of setup, but just in case you inadvertently locked them: Setup Lock Setup Lock is used to prevent the RMC-1’s configuration settings from being inadvertently changed. Selecting None will leave all configuration settings unlocked. This is the normal default configuration. Selecting Advanced locks the Setup Advanced Menu - which will then no longer appear on the Setup Menu. This prevents anyone from inadvertently changing any settings on the Setup Advanced Menu, which include resetting the RMC-1 to factory defaults. Selecting All locks the entire Setup Menu. Note: If you lock the entire Setup Menu - by selecting All, or just the Setup Advanced Menu - by
selecting Advanced, you will no longer have access to the Setup Advanced Menu, which will
prevent you from changing the lock settings. This will prevent you from unlocking the menus.
If you find yourself in this situation, you may still access the Setup Advanced Menu directly
by pressing the Standy button on the front panel WHILE PRESSING AND HOLDING THE FRONT
PANEL ENCODER KNOB IN.
The 'front panel encoder knob' is just the big volume button.

Unfortunately, that did not work. Any thoughts on doing a factory reset to bring it back? That would be a good idea... BUT if you can't get to 'setup' you won't be able to get to 'advanced' to get to 'factory reset'. After doing the steps to 'unlock' setup did you do a rear panel power cycle? If not try that and see if 'setup' returns to the menu. If not you probably should get on the phone with Emotiva support.

Rear panel power cycle after holding the encode button and pressing the standby button did not work. I'll give support a call. I appreciate all of your help!

Unfortunately, I lost the batteries to the factory remote, so I have been doing all of the steps to get myself out of this mess on the front panel of the unit.

Front Panel is the same as Remote, so you're getting the same response from the Menu either way. Sorry you're locked out. bummer. Please let us know what Support tells you.
