The ‘updating fonts’ step does not go away and keeps doing it at each cold boot. Is that supposed to be like this? It says complete each time as well. annoying, as it adds time to the cold boot (energy saving in europe ). A couple of the beta testers found this issue, myself being one of them. It is definitely being worked on, it hasn't affected the usability or stability of this new firmware, and just adds a little more time to the cold boot, otherwise my RMC-1 is quite stable.

Great news! The ‘updating fonts’ step does not go away and keeps doing it at each cold boot. Is that supposed to be like this? It says complete each time as well. annoying, as it adds time to the cold boot (energy saving in europe ). I'm getting the "updating fonts" repeating too. My XMC-2 displayed "fonts complete" and shut down. I waited 10 minutes and switched off the rear switch. When it reboots it returns to "updating fonts". This happened twice so far. It does show FW3.1 when I checked. Cheers, Dave.

I am almost afraid to update. Shut off my TV? This one seems complex. Don't be afraid, it's very straightforward and if you have any questions, we are here to help. Lonnie I get the "Updating Fonts" screens at boot ups as well. I understand it is under investigation. No need to reply. Everything else seems good.

Oh well....
Hopes and dreams dashed onto the rocks.
AppleTV 4K worked as before. Firestick works as before SACD Audio play, as before Nothing from BluRay. Not a thing. Just a momentary flick of image on the screen, then black.
Tried HDMI 1.4 & 2 Tried a Sony X-800 BluRay Reavon UBR X110 Reavon UBR X200 Panasonic UB-9000....
Just still can't play BluRays. All I see on the screen is "Unsupported Source"
....time for the next step.

It appears as though the checksum on older HDMI boards is telling the system to update the fonts. Nothing to worry about, it just reloads what you already have. It will only do this on a low power boot, so if you change your settings to Video Remains On, then it won't show up.
We are looking into why it thinks it needs to reload the fonts and will get it resolved, but don't worry, it doesn't affect anything. It just takes a little longer to boot from low power.
I recommend you change your settings to Video Remains On and it will solve the problem.

From what I see here, it simply sounds like a bandwidth issue to me, but I don't know all the details. Lonnie

The bitrate plops are on a different level now, much better, of course, if there is room left to tweak, great. Sound wise, something is better, maybe the firmware, maybe factory reset, maybe mindset, but I’ll take it thanks!

I’m getting the updating fonts as well on my XMC2 and then it didn’t see apple my tv. I didn’t play with it much though. I switched to the video remains on mode mode and it’s all good. Something definitely going on with the low power standby though.

Coincidentally I'm on a day off today so will get to try it out. Dave.

Questions: I’ve performed the update but want to check a few things: Is this right? Firmware Version 3.1 22/11/14 FP Version 2.11 21/05/11 Kernel Version 1.2 18/02/08 HDMI Version 8.1 20/09/28 DSPO Version 3.1 22/11/14 DSP1 Version 3.1 22/11/14 USB Version 3.1 22/11/14 Those look correct, HDMI version may vary on some machines.

Are you running a powered HDMI cable or passive? From what I see here, it simply sounds like a bandwidth issue to me, but I don't know all the details. Lonnie The exact Brand and Model of cable you asked me to purchase Lonnie If you need support, please contact us to initiate this if you would like. You still have the option that has been open for months to send the unit in for service under the warranty. But I still believe this to be an HDCP conflict of some kind with the particular combination of devices and age of the projector you are using. The exact same Reavon and other BRP work fine here with our processors and all of the displays I have tried it with, including multiple 1080p projectors and 4K TVs. I was just using the Reavon yesterday in fact. We may be able to find something in hardware if you choose to send it in. Thanks.
