I got my first New Year’s wish. Come true…… And that was not to be watching somebody’s ball drop and hit the ground at midnight or the other direction I suppose! Don’t need that
What we did do was boil up 8 four ounce lobster tails. Drawn garlic butter. A special rice dish and a beautiful salad. Then we started the evening with the 2008 Chris Botti in Boston Blu-ray and after that the latest Doctor Strange movie…… All I can say about that one is that I got a chance to catch up on my rest, my bride gave me a New Year’s kiss and here we are in 2023

Had a nice easy night at home with some friends that have kids the same age as ours.
Seared a chateaubriand on the grill at 750 and moved to the oven to finish at 250.

No boxing them up and humping them to the local FedEx office. They cringe at some of the heavy stuff I ship. I tell them to consider it job security. Makes them feel a bit better about that 50lb plus amp boxed up. The speakers would have been a bit heavier, like 115lb+ in a single box. $100 cheaper than shipping individually. Happy New Year everyone. May it be better than 2022, last year sucked IMO!

Thank you for the education! I never knew (chateaubriand) what that was even though I’ve been barbecuing tenderloin for years! The whole tenderloin has been tougher to buy over the past year or so. Most stores have a little single serving Cryovac pieces but this week my local supermarket had them on sale for $15 a pound. That almost sounds funny by itself. Anyway, I grabbed one this afternoon and I’ll be cutting it up and freezing it within the hour.

I buy half a beef every year or so, whenever I'm getting low. I give away some of the cuts, and hamburger, and the brisket. My ex loves brisket and I get some of that back for sandwiches. I get the tenderloin whole in 2 pound packages. Can't remember how many half a beef makes, but there is plenty, and it's the best! Grass fed Black Angus, finished on grain the last month or so for marbling, and free of hormones and antibiotics. Even the hamburger tastes like a good steak! Hmm, I should dig out a big t-bone for dinner, as big as a dinner plate, and I don't need a knife to cut it! Happy New Year everyone!
