Awesome career and fantastic guitar player. RIP Mr Beck. Time to play your albums LOUD !
However, I will never forgive him for using a Strat in the Tribute to Les Paul. His reason was that a Les Paul is very heavy.

Had the good fortune to see Beck in the early 70's shortly after Truth and Beck-ola had been released. Was an amazing show. In more contemporary times, you should check out his bluray "Live at Ronnie Scott's", and last but not least check out his performance of Nessun Dorma on Youtube which I believe he performed in Berwyn, Il. at one of Eric Clapton's Guitar Festivals.

I’ve been kind of stunned by this, probably my first guitar hero. If there’s an upside to things like this, it’s the sharing of what people loved about Beck’s music, a good friend from high school mentioned “Nadia” from the “You Had It Coming” album, this performance from the Ronnie Scott’s show. I’d call it exquisite, if I was home I’d just watch the whole disc (with Tal too).

Amazing you posted here, I was looking for this thread yesterday and couldn't find it, thanks for hunting it up. Speaking too of Clapton and Beck, I wanted to post this video, one of the last things Beck did, a just released studio version of something they've done live together many times, and this has a nice animation of two old friends. It's also on Apple Music now (probably elsewhere) sans video. |
