What sources are you trying to play from the streamer? As Keith mentions there are a ton of options, the Shield is a great streamer for video as it supports lossless codecs (one of the few), but if you are looking for higher end audio then a dedicated audio streamer may be a better choice. In a perfect world you could look at two upgrade options... 1) Newer TV (maybe an OLED so your video gets upgraded too) which would include the streamer features and then use HDMI Arc to feed your DAC 2) Swap that DAC and the receiver for one of the newer Emotiva pre-pro units. Then connect the streamer to the pre pro and feed the TV with the monitor out.
BTW the shield does support USB output but I remember that having some limitations...

Thanks again all!
My inner audiophile apparently evolves very slowly 😎
It took me years to realize how much I was missing by using low quality mp3's, YouTube, and cellphone Bluetooth 🙈
I finally got decent speakers. Your help, and the recent Emotiva sales event, is getting me to improve more quickly, and to avoid the large amounts of wasted money I would have blown on my own. 💸
I'm realizing my old 100w / ch Marantz is leaving me a little short on headroom.
The Emotiva XPA-DR1 Differential Reference's oughta fix that in my ~15ft x ~25ft room 🎶
