LCSeminoleI'll be watching the news and hoping for the best. Along with friends here, I have many in the potential path. Some were just here in Ohio and flew home today...ugh... Mark

Wishing you a safe passage, a resilient ISP, gas in the generator, and abundant popcorn 🍿 Just refilled my gas cans with non-ethanol for my inverter generator, and extra premium for my car. The run on gas in my area has already started this evening for those that like to be prepared early. Tomorrow and Wednesday will be crazy with long lines to fuel up. As for preparations, I did everything this weekend, so for me it’s now up to Mother Nature how my area fairs.

Be careful with this one, LCSeminole; the forecasters are becoming unhealthily excited.

Debby lingered, although just a Tropical Storm, she dropped 17" of rain on our town. Needless to say, we're not looking forward to another soakin'...

a little levity for my friends in Florida. I follow Jim on X... if he's ever deployed to my area of Florida, no joke... I'll deploy the hurricane shutters and will vacate the area.

Laurence it's looking very serious. Really hoping you all remain safe.
I know for a fact you prepare very well, so that's comforting to know. I'll be tossing good thoughts your way all through this.

Soooooooo, while I don’t want to speak too soon, at this time I believe my home made it through relatively unscathed(it will be light in two hours so I’ll be out inspecting when i can see). Tallahassee ended up on the west side of Hurricane Helene, by about 50-60 miles and she passed us on the ESE side, when the models had us taking a direct hit! What a difference a few wobbles to the east made!!! The power did however go out at 11:15pm just as we started getting 60-70mph wind gusts and they started slowing down after 2am as Helene pulled out of Florida. If the power isn’t back on come daylight, I’ll gas up the generator and get my refrigerator/modem/TV going. Helene was a CAT 4 / 140mph monster and I thank God for keeping me safe throughout this event. However I know she has caused much more damage to those living immediately to areas east and southeast of me and their lives I’m sure will be forever altered by Helene’s catastrophic wind field.. I’ll update this thread later in the day when I can actually see.

Hemster and LuisV , how did the Tampa area make out? Hopefully the water surge was minimal!
