Hi all, I have a C2+ that I purchased a few years ago before stepping up to the C3+. I should have purchased another C2+ when they were being discontinued but alas, I didn't. Since finding a used one has been an exercise in futility, the next best option is potentially pairing it with an XC2. They will be for casual listening in a fairly large family room and will sit on top of some bookshelves at each corner of one end of the room. The slight design difference won't matter mush as they will be 20 feet apart and the basic dimensions are almost identical. I'm more concerned (and maybe shouldn't be) with how they match sound wise. Any feedback on this would be great!!

Any feedback on this would be great!! If you can't find a C2+, then the original C2 would be a much better match than the XC2. The XC2 has been redesigned (both inside and out) and the drivers (and their arrangement) are radically different. Other than for removing the cabinet "center notches" on the C2+, they're identical to the original C2. It just so happens that there's an original C2 for sale in our own Emporium. The seller is offering a 5 speaker setup, but you might try seeing if he'd break up the set and part with just the C2. EDIT: Keep in mind, however, that the tweeters are not square and cannot be rotated. As a result, the dispersion pattern of the guide might prevent you from using them in an upright (MTM) manner. They're designed to be used in a horizontal position.

If I'm not able to go that route I will still have to consider the XC2. Would be interesting to hear them side by side.
