So, I have been reading many pages on the emotive speakers. The vast majority of owners are quite happy, so I am really considering giving them a try. I am considering the following 5.1 setup:
(3) 6.2 across the fronts (2) erd-1 for the rears (1) elemental, hsu, or svs sub (undecided)
I was wondering if anyone is running a similar setup with a Marantz 6003 or 6004 receiver. I think I am going to purchase the lower priced 6003 and upgrading to a seperate amp after the holidays if necessary. I think it should sound very good.
I have a def tech setup (bp7004, clr 2500, bp2x, and supercube 1 in my basement. This "smaller" system will be in the living room and will hopefully be more geared toward more musical duties than movie watching. I am very pleased with the def tech setup for movies.
Thought, questions, comments? btw, living room is 15x30. The tv (52" xbr5) is on the right half of the room.
Thanks, Joe

I have a 6003 but i don't have Emotiva speakers. The 6003 can hold its own, but it just doesnt have the power capabilities for the volume levels i like. I have 4ohm speakers, with around the same sensitivity as the Emotiva speakers so i imagine you will have a similar experience. If you must wait to get and amp, just dont "pump up the jams".

Hey joeyvaz here is hopping you come back and read the responses buddy... One word for ya if your looking for a sub and can't wait for Emo to deliver their DSP unit... Rythmik Audio man direct servo kit! or buy a prefab from Ascend... I used one in a recent install and it's the best sub I've ever seen/heard under $2500 bucks (sells for a cool $900 bucks!) The plate-amp has every possible calibration option you'd ever need and is better than Doc HSUs stuff IMHO. I see Rythmik isn't even on your list so your like so many and are not aware of this product...
Solid-State
PS You can also get it with a GRresearch manila sub driver for the fastest musical sub you could possibly buy under... heck $3000 Owhh and it's technology is patented for the next 15 or so years
