I spoke with Mirage/Klipsch today and they didn't think it was. They said it sounds like they just blew? If you call Mirage these days, no one who worked on / with the OM-5's & knows what they're doing is still there. Klipsch eventually fired everybody who didn't leave on their own. Good support for any older Mirage/Energy/Athena/Sound Dynamics product is hard to come by. very hard to find these days, unfortunately

Digging up an old thread...
I blew another set of midrange woofers on one of my OM-5s. This is the first time I've blown a set with the XPA-2 powering them. I am going to try to find another replacement set. Hopefully I can still find a pair.
Needless to say the midrange woofers are the weakest part of the OM-5s. The tweeters and built in subs are still working perfectly.

Please let me know if you find some decent replacement drivers. I'd like to get a couple pair, just in case.

Since I'm here I might as well put my 2 cents in.
the good old days of Mirage, when they made speakers worth listening to. The ERT towers are impressive for the money and definitely deserve a listen, it really comes down to personal taste. In my opinion........ swap out your amp, don't spend to much time looking at power numbers but focus on quality of sound. I used an older Linn LK100 amp on the ERT towers and it blew the Emotiva LPA-1 out of the water
