I watched the new Transformers movie on Blu Ray last weekend and found out that my rear speakers B&W 302's could not take the beating from this awesome sounding movie, The Chronicles of Riddick also made these speakers show some weakness. There were 3 or 4 parts in the movie that you could hear the smallish 4" woofer making a fluttering sound. I am considering an upgrade if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them. I am using an XPA-5 in my 5.1 system my fronts are B&W 604 SERIES 2 and the center is B&W LCR 600.

Umm, ERD-1's?
Are you running your surrounds as large or are the crossed?
I love my set of ERD's, but I've never really had anything that would compare.

I have a pair of X-omnis that I use for surround duty. They're powered by an XPA-3, and personally i think they work & sound fantastic.

The B&W DS3 would also likely be worth a listen - the Emotiva's are excellent, but matching is so important.

Also trying another 6 series speaker or maybe increasing the crossover to a higher frequency may help. Used to have a pair of B&W DM 302s for surrounds matched with their 3 series floorstanders and center channel and set the crossover at 100Hz without a problem.

Listened to/watched Transformers 2 last week. 4 ERD-1 surrounds with ERM6.3 center, and home made towers. Sounded like sheer perfection. For the price and what they do, you won't go wrong with ERD-1 surround speakers. For reference, mine are powered by an XPA-5 giving them each 350 watts per.....

I am considering the ERD-1 surrounds, glad to hear that you were using those with the XPA-5 AMP. Might just make my decision easier.
