Well I had just got my ERM 6.3 center speaker and was so amazed by this beast. I set it in place and admired it for a good while Anywayz it was my nite out with the guyz to play some pool so I went and had a great time. Got home pretty late 12ish and decided to admire the 6.3 once more time before I hit the sack. Upon further admiring I noticed that two of the woofer were pushed in slightly(1mid and 1high) First thing that popped in my mind was CYNTHIA(My lil 4 yearold girl) I was so mad and sad at the same time, couldn't go to bed thinkin that my 6.3 was in pain. So I stayed up thinkin of what I can do to fix it. Well I got the idea of GUM tried it out on the mid driver and WHAM out popped the bubble. Tried it on the high but didnt have no success. So there there I am trying for 2 hours chewing gum and reapplying it until when I almost gave up it finally worked. I was so releaved ;D I should have put the grill on but it looks so much cooler with it off ;D The moral of today's story is keep your grills on and be sure to keep some gum around the house Thank you

It's not advisable to remove the grills if there are young kids in the family.
A few years back, I had the grills removed for the 1st time and was away for less than 5 mins, I was shocked to see a hole in the woofer when I returned to the room. It was the work of my 7 years old son. Since then, I have never removed the grills on my new speakers when my kids are in the house.

Glad you got it sorted out! I'll have to keep that in mind if i ever have an indented dust cap to try the gum trick I share an apartment with my father so i have no worries of someone poking finger's at my nekkid speaker's I actualy preffer the sound minus the grill's as opposed to having them in place

They do look really cool with grills off. I only take the grills off when no one else is home.

The grills on my B&W 683s are huge, lots of plastic, and stick out an inch from the face. I MUCH prefer the sound with my grills off, the soundstage really opens up. However, with a 3yr old and 2yr old and 1yr old, I am very glad for those heavy plastic grills protecting my wonderfull speakers! They only come off when the kids are in bed. It really is amazing how kids gravitate to that kind of stuff. I had the grills off for a few minutes once when my 3yr old was up, she IMMEDIATELY went for the driver with her finger out!! Then there was last week when I got my repaired LMC-1 back. I had the cabinet door open to set it all up. The 3yr old comes in on one side and grabs one knowb, the 2yr old comes in the other side and grabs the other knob!! AAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

I have found bouncy balls and hotwheels in the ports of my Polks. Now I leave the grills on most of the time.

I decided to leave my grills on on my 8.3s - ever since I found my dog getting avidly interested in the speakers when playing Animals (Pink Floyd). Not that the mesh grill can stop a pit bull but I feeeeelllll better :-).
