I'm in the market for a dedicated BluRay player to replace my PS3.
I know the Oppo is currently the player of choice but I'm really attracted to LG because of it's built in network capabilities.
Cnet gave it a good review and a little better than average user review (I don't weigh the combined average user review to heavily since a lot of bad reviews come from boneheads that don't know how to set it up properly).
Anyone here have one or know someone who does?

I've got one. Had it about 3 months I guess. Hooked to a 50" LG Plasma and a 720P Hitachi projector. Excellent picture quality. My Pioneer receiver doesn't support the latest audio across HDMI so I'm hooked in 5.1 channel analog. I know I'm missing out on some good audio with this hookup. A new Emotiva prepro and amp are future purchase for me so that issue will be corrected eventually.
All in all a very nice player. Fast boot and load times. NetFlix and Vudu are cool but I don't use them all that much. I think the only time I tried YouTube the video was horrid so I've never looked again. My son is in the process of ripping all of my DVDs and putting them on an external HD so soon I'll be able to watch any or my 200+ movies without getting out of my chair ;D
I was really hoping for something better in terms of it connecting to my PC and streaming music and videos. It only "sees" 2000 files/folders. I'm fast coming up on 10K so that aspect is pretty useless to me. File and folder management on the 390 is pretty crude. There's a persistant buzz that future firmware updates will make that much more functional.
There's a really long thread (70+ pages) about the 370/390 over at the AVS forum. I read through pretty much all of it before I pulled the trigger. Everyone who has one seems pretty pleased.
As a side note... I bought an Oppo BD-83 and returned it. While it was a terrific BD player and wicked fast I was not impressed with its DVDA/SACD capabilities. I've heard that there have been several firmware updated that correct all of the issues that I had so it may well be a good choice now.

Thanks for the confirmation. I think I'm pretty much like you in that I'm not going to use the online streaming video services that much. As for streaming music... I am interested in that feature and the 2000 file/folder limit could be a problem but if there's firmware in the works then I'm not to worried about it. I'd rather have a little bit of something than a whole lot of nothing. OK... It looks like it will be a good choice for me once I have my UMC-1 in place and running and I'll continue to use my PS3 until then. Thanks again! ;D
