I'm having to send my SVS sub in for repair and who knows how long it will take to get it back. Meanwhile, I still want to use my theater for movies and such. I have a Pioneer receiver and I use MCACC on it. If I rerun MCACC w/out the sub and save it to one of the memories, that should work as far as redirecting any LFE to my L/R 8.3s, right? I have such a good sub that I'm afraid I'm going to be disappointed with the LFE output of the 8.3s. What's a good expectation to have in this regard?

Nothing compares to a good sub , but yes if your going to still use the HT I would definitely re-run the calibration as you described better then nothing

At first I had a lousy sub which was akin to no sub at all so I listened to the 8.3s as full range and they were not lacking in a tower set up for bass. Now, true, with such a fine sub as yours, of course you will notice the difference. But as a stand alone, I think the 8.3s produced a fine bottom end without a sub. Better with, no doubt, but I suspect (depending on the size of your room) you will find these adequate. Good luck

Yeah, you nailed that one, rather. I have watched a couple flicks and if I would have had a sub-par subwoofer to replace, I think I would have been satisfied with the 8.3s LFE output. But my Ultra is so good, I feel like I'm getting no low-end even though I know the 8.3s can produce some.
