So my last suggestion may not exactly have been a hidden movie, but was a gem ;D Ok. In all seriousness, a couple of movie that are kind of underground and are "Kids" and "Elephant". Many people my have heard of or even seen Kids, but it certainly never really made it main stream. Both of these movies are pretty F'ed up if I do say so myself. Elephant is pretty slow going, but the way that they shot it was kind of neat. It is the perspective of various people in the film and what they all saw that happened on the same day. Everything king of overlaps. Kind of hard to explain and you would understand once you saw it. awesome! never heard of these and now they're on my list. thanks for the tips

The Player was an excellent satire. I especially enjoyed the long continuous take in the opening sequence. That was brilliantly done. If I recall correctly, it was about 6 to 7 minutes long and I kept rewinding it to the beginning just to marvel at the shot. Irritated my wife to no end. She could not see why I was so fascinated by it and wanted to continue watching the movie.

Fantastic movie, definitely should watch it again as it's been a while.
Watched a couple films recently that have blown me away. The first is Thirst (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0762073/), definitely not your average vampire movie! Extremely well done and slightly disturbing.
The other was Martyrs (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1029234/), a french movie that take disturbing to a whole new level. It's brilliantly acted, shot, and overall there isn't really anything bad I can say about it. Probably my favourite movie I've seen in a while. I wouldn't say it's "enjoyable", as it can be hard to watch but a must see as far as I'm concerned. Although I have the DVD I will absolutely get it on Blu-Ray when/if it comes out.

The Pledge-2001 Jack Nicholson. Directed by Sean Penn. Its a slow moving movie but if you forgot (like me) that at one time Jack was more than sunglasses at the Lakers game, this movie will remind you that he has acting talent to spare. Came and went in the shadows of Castaway, Snatch and O Brother where art thou.

Here's one that I did forget about this was a marvelous film that went underground almost immediately. O'Rourke was a tempestuous actor back then and got into a major disagreement with the studio over his availability for publicizing the movie on release. IT escalated and O'Rourke thought he won by telling MGM to go pound sand. MGM responded by pulling back the release and shelving the film! Few people saw it in the theaters and even in VHS (yeah they had those back then) you didn't come across it often. A completely forgotten film and a wonderful acting performance by O'Rourke. Alan Bates was marvelous too and Bob Hoskins played his usual solid self. Then acting drops off after that (Liam Neeson's role was very small)

I saw this offbeat black comedy movie in the mid seventies. I want to rent it again if for no other reason to experience one of the funniest surprise endings I have ever seen in a movie. The ending alone is worth the price of admission. WARNING !!! If you do consider viewing this movie do not read any more about it. Some reviews give you way too many hints or actually reveal the ending and might just ruin it for you. I might add that my favorite movie review site Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 77% rating which is very good, although it is on the somewhat bizarre side at times. If you have a Chuckienut type of humor you might love this movie. Your significant other should have a good sense of humor also. Some info from Amazon with a few of my own words: "..........Set in the year 2024 in Post-Apocalyptic America, 18-year old Vic (Johnson) and his telepathic dog Blood (who is considerably higher on the IQ scale than Vic and voiced by Tim McIntyre) are happy scavengers in the desolate wilderness ravaged by World War Four, where survivors must battle for food, shelter, and sexual companionship in the desert-like wasteland. Vic and Blood eke out a meager existence, foraging for food and fighting gangs of cutthroats. Blood can smell water, food, and women at great distances. When they find a woman named Quilla Jones (Benton), she lures Vic into a bizarre underground city named Topeka (all the males are impotent due to lack of sunshine), where he is to be used to offer some assistance to the young ladies in need..........Unfortunately, blood is left behind and when Vic is finally able to return to the surface he discovers Blood nearly dead of starvation.......OK, that's enough. ;D Please Read Warning Above !!!

This film has a lot of frontal nudity primarily Eva Green and the music score with Hendrix, doors is awesome! The story line is not predicatable as it is twisted to say the least nor is its ending. Definitely not for a party. Eva Green is a french actress and a beauty to behold in this film. Here is a pic of Eva Green for those not familiar!
