I would like to purchase Emotiva speakers, the ERM 6.2 and ERD-1 for my 5.1 setup. I live in Corona, CA. If anyone has Emotiva speakers where I could audition them before I make my purchase, please let me know. You can email me at jolax73@yahoo.com. I was kind of wondering how are these Emos speakers compare to Polk Lsi7 series.
Thanks folks!!

I was kind of wondering how are these Emos speakers compare to Polk Lsi7 series. Thanks folks!! There are quite a few Lounge Members who live in CA but finding one of them who owns the speaker you want to audition may not be possible. You can always take advantage of Emotiva's 30-day trial so you can listen to them in the comfort of your own home using your own equipment. What better way to evaluate speakers? If you decide they are not your cup of tea, return them within the 30-day period, no questions asked. I highly doubt you will be returning them. The ERM-6.2 has an extremely flat response from 80 to 22000, are very dynamic and are neutral across its range. Buying speakers is the most subjective task you will be asked to do in this hobby; and, only you can know what speaker you prefer. The Polk LSi7 is somewhat odd in it frequency response. It has very good high response and excellent low end response, but it mid range and mid bass response are flawed. Reviews I have read say that the mid range tends to be muddy and lacks dynamics. Depending on the type of music you listen to, this flaw could be fatal to your enjoyment. Whether the Polk's midrange deficiencies rule it out of consideration depends on what you like. It may not be a detriment to you, but it would definitely be for me. The Emotiva speakers excel in the very ranges that the Polk LSi7 has trouble with. Either of these speakers will require a good sub. The Polk has a 5 1/4" woofer and a 1" tweeter. The ERM-6.2 has two 6.5" woofers and a 1" tweeter. The Polk is a ported enclosure while the Emotiva is a sealed enclosure. The ERM-6.2 is on sale right now for $219 -- about half the cost of the Polk LSi7. Only you can tell which speaker you will like better, but the Emotiva looks to have the upper hand in this comparison. ;D
