Would folks here use something like a ERD for all 4 surrounds, or something like a ERM class for 4 and 5 and a ERD for 6 and 7?
Where 4 and 5 are the "side" and 6 and 7 are the rear...

If anything, the ERD would be better on the sides I think, if going that way. ERDs will be less "in your ear" and more spatial.
You can go for all 4 surrounds as ERD-1, they work beautifully and you can change them from bipole to dipole to suit your preference/room.

Use the ERD-1's for both the side and rear surrounds.

I chose 4 ERD-1s for sides and surrounds and they work quite well together. Depending on your distances, I would think using ERMs for the rears might work if they are far enough back... but I don't know that there is any benefit. The ERD-1s do a great job at the side/surround position
