Guys, this pissing match is getting old. Yes, neekos, I agree. However, please direct your post to jlafrenz and bigred. They started the attack and continued it. I'm only defending myself. All my posts are meant to be helpful. Yes, I'm very enthusiastic about Emo gear. If they don't like my posting style then let then PM me and keep it out of the thread. Apologies to iketremonti8, but I will continue to defend myself if they use your thread to attack me.

Just a note as one of the OPs. There is more under the surface of chukienut's reccomendation then just this thread. I have inquired about Klipsch vs. Emotiva in other threads where I gave a bit more info about my listening likes and dislikes. emotivalounge.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=speakers&action=display&thread=5345&page=2And more importantly I have been having numerous PM conversations with many of these guys speaking of very specific sonic and clarity issues related to my years with Klpsch center channels. Unfortunately you have not been a party to these conversations... a short clip from one PM where I discuss more specific details: "You seem pretty versed and well "eared" in many of the products out there. Do you think I am crazy to consider moving from my Klipsch Ref-7 setup (RB-75s, RC-7, RS-7s x4) to Emotiva 8.3, 6.3 and ERDs? I have had Klipsch for many, many years. My Father built a K-Horn (yeah a crime, back in the days before stereo, he only built one) and I guess I kind of grew up thinking Klipsch was the only option.
I do at times find the horns a bit bright, but again... have been used to the sound so accept it. My biggest reason to consider the change.... Center channel. We use our system almost exclusively for daily TV viewing and movie watching. I originally had a KV-2 center, then an RC-35 finally the RC-7. Ever since the RC-35 I seem to struggle during TV Viewing, Movie Watching etc. especially when it comes to mid frequency vocals (Male voices etc.). I have to crank the volume to accurately hear everything, but then get blown out with the highs.
At first I thought it may be my hearing... but when viewing a movie (Blu-ray, DVD, HD content from Dish) others will request a volume increase due to the same issues. A few years ago I started researching complaints about RC-7s, RC-35s... and found a number (not a ton) folks seemingly with similar complaints. Spent a lot of time on the Klipsch forums researching it.
So I guess I find myself at a point where I may be ready to consider a change. Given what my Klipsch stuff seems to sell for used, I could almost sell it all and end up a wash buying 8.3s for the front, 6.3 for the center and 4 ERDs. I have read a bunch of the review info on the Emotiva stuff and it sure sounds like they would fill my room adequately. I would drive with a MPS-1 and the room is 20 x 25 some pictures below."Frankly beating up chuckienut over enthusiasm for a product is probably unnecessary. Had he said in all these examples "Klipsch sucks, what a poor speaker, your an idiot for not buying Emotiva sooner"... sure Lynch him. But all he is saying is that he is very enthusiastic about Emtoiva and even goes as far as to recommend A/B comparative approaches to ensure a proper decision is made. Yes, I guarantee you will like them... is very opinionated... but there is NOTHING negative about. This should be a community of friends with a common goal... superior SOUND and FUN. Can we try to find a way back to that?

"..........Chuckienut... this is the exact kind of information I was looking for, dare I say "wanting to hear". I will start with a 6.3 and A/B it against my RC-7 and go from there..........." Doesnt matter how you put it Chuckienut, you are telling people they will love speakers when there is no way for you to know this. Whats it matter if you owned klipsch in the past??? Your tastes are irrelevant to someone else's. Gee bigred, It seems that the OP disagrees with you. Isn't the idea of a forum like this to give and take, ask questions and offer advice? I have experience with both Klipsch and Emotiva speakers. Doesn't it seem logical that maybe I could offer my opinion even though you apparently don't like the way I word my post. Bigred, why don't you knock off the attack and PM me and we can continue this off thread. How about discontinue hijacking this thread with your attacks on my posting style? (watch out Roadrunner, you're next!) "....There is NOTHING wrong with recommending emotiva speakers, and there is definately nothing wrong with being enthusiastic about them......" (Oh! I thought that was what you were complaining about to me?)

"beat up" may have been a bit of exaggeration... but the debate was not a very friendly outcome to some well accepted recommendations. I just want the community to be more like a group of friends. Knowing how easily typed words can be mis-construed vs. having this very same debate in person... I feel we need to be a bit more "light-footed" at times.

Thats your opinion because you got what you wanted to hear in the first place. I think it is a disservice to not get all the facts when recommending things to people. Obviously you guys had pm'd so i apologize, but just as in your case, this is not the whole story since this was not the first time.

There is NOTHING wrong with recommending emotiva speakers, and there is definately nothing wrong with being enthusiastic about them. Ugh, excuse me! Wasn't that exactly what I was doing?

Don't take what you think jlafrenz was doing and mix it with what i have said. It was constructive critisicm for what i see you do a lot (not just this time). I have mentioned it before and you ignored me. Judd happened to say something very similar and i agreed with him, and told you in a respectful manner. If anything you're the one making this ridiculous with your sarcastic replies to me. Of course the point of a forum is to give and take advice. As i said in my initial post my last sentence states that "Again there is nothing wrong with making enthusiastic suggestions but as long time posters on this forum our statements DO impact what people buy. So lets just make sure what we suggest fits any OP's actual needs." How in the world do you take this as an attack when i said my point is we should all qualify someone first??? Thats a pretty harmless statement yet your making it seems as if i personally insulted you...If anything it was an open ended statement for everyone, even myself. Its been an common occurrence lately here and i was just stating my opinion just like you do chuckienut. ::EDITED:: i added some stuff

Again stop with this self righteous bullshit......I have mentioned it before and you ignored me. Wow, you don't consider the term "self righteous bullshit" a form of attack? Sorry bigred but I don't remember you correcting me and my ignoring you. Can you show me the post? Perhaps I thought you were joking. I certainly apologize that I ignored you. You must be some bigtime person here at the Emotiva lounge. I was under the impression that you were just a regular member like me. I wasn't aware that we had to pay homage to you. When I'm as old as you maybe I'll get more respect here. What I look forward to is when you and jlafrenz start attacking Roadrunner for using terms like analog bliss and nirvana. Watch out Ronny you might be next! Bigred, maybe you would be so kind as to list posting guidelines for me and other overly enthusiastic members so we can avoid upsetting you in the future.

now you're just getting childish, disrespectful Childish? Disrespectful? ;D Bigred, why not in the future if you or jlafrenz don't care for the way I word my post, just send me a PM and let me know in a nice and friendly manner that you suggest that I'm too opinionated or whatever you feel. That way we could keep it out of the threads. There have been times when I have not liked some of your posts but did not mention it. Should I now start correcting you whenever I see something in one of your posts that I don't like?

If anything that was the biggest form of attack in this thread yet... I posted what i did because i thought my main point was something we should all strive for.

PS: jlafrenz just sent me a PM and now we can talk in private rather than ruining this thread. Why don't you just PM me rather than continuing here?

I mentioned what i did because i thought it was something we can all benefit from. i dont have thin skin here...you can say whatever you want about me or my posts. You keep mentioning PM as if i should send you a message, yet you could have just as easily sent me a message some time ago.... i've said what i needed to say.

you can say whatever you want about me or my posts. You continued the comments that jlafrenz started. You could have just as well sent me a PM if you didn't like my posting sytle and we could have discussed it off thread. I took the comments personally. Good Night (apologies to iketremonti8)

Just wanted to ask the op if he ever tried the a6 center, should be a little beefier than the a4. And do you like that line of polks? I listened to the equivalent centers in the tsi line and the cs20 was beefier than the cs10. From what i hear you should get the same difference in your series. Just a thought.

Sorry guys, I did not intend to get you guys fired up! Hope everyone settled their differences.
To kt10r, I have definitely considered the a6 center. If I got a new center it would probably be that one or the emotiva one. I'm just not sure which one will be the best improvement over the one I have now. I know both will be a definite improvement, but I don't know how much. I wish that A6 was just a little bit cheaper though lol. Its around $450 on pretty much every legit website that I have seen and seeing as how the Emotiva 6.3 was on sale for just a few dollars more I thought I'd get some opinions on that idea. But now I think the Emotiva sale is ending so maybe the A6 is my best bet anyways.
Oh and sorry I didn't answer your first question about me liking this line of polks. I love them. I think they sound great. I'm not a speaker expert, but I have heard may different brands including the Emotiva set up at Emofest and mine still sound great to my ear. They were just OK with my mediocre receiver power going to them (Yamaha 765), but now they sound awesome with my XPA-2 and XPA-3. I think if I got the A6 like you suggested I would be happy and set for a quite a while. Thanks
