Hey fellas, I received my ERD-1s over here in the UK yesterday (16th), and also received another more valuable package. My wife gave birth to our new baby girl last night. Miley Lauren was born at 9:14 pm last night and is doing great along with my wife. I hope to return home tonight with my two packages. Cracked open the box at the post office and from what i can see, the ERDs look great, but i probably won't be able to hear them for a few days, no big deal. I have bigger things to attend to. ;D

Well, my wife knows how I am when I get a new toy and the box has been sitting in my beer brewing kitchen since we got home with the baby. I haven't really even thought about it then my wife says, hey you want to take some time and set up the new speakers? I of course say, it's no big deal. She says, no go ahead. So i unwrap them and they look as good as my 6.3. Also, bonus- the Speaker owners manual was in the box, my 6.3 didn't have anything but the grill label in the box. It is just a printed version of what's available online, but it is nice to have.
Anyways, I moved my iQ5s to my gym set-up and they sound good there. The ERDs sound awesome, i hung them 6 ft up the wall to the sides and set the switches as Dipole. The iQ5s are good speakers but i could always pin point the sounds during surround sequences so I remembered my Axiom surrounds so thought i would like the ERDs. I definitely do, they sound as good or better than the Axiom QS8s. Pretty high praise, but they do to my ears. If you are on the fence about these speakers, give them a try, especially at 249, it is a steal. I watched sequences from all my Reference movies (Matrix, Hulk, 300, Iron Man) and they performed exactly how i wanted them too. I crossed them at 80 because my receiver has only one crossover point, once i get my UMC-1 or maybe XMC-1 i will try crossing them at 100 and see how they sound.

I'm liking a 90Hz crossover just now.

I'm liking a 90Hz crossover just now. I should try experimenting with the crossover point with my erd's. I just set them at 80 hz when I hooked them up last summer and never experimented with anything else. They sound pretty darn good that way, but maybe I'll like them even more with another setting.

Mariof16 congratulations on the arrival of your new babies!
I also replaced my Axiom surrounds (QS4's) with the ERD-1's and am very pleased.
Sounds like you have a beautiful wife as well as a beautiful new baby girl.
All the best, Chucko (as my British friend used to call me)
