Once again, you get in to that aspect of comparing speakers which, in the end, is quite subjective, especially when they are in similar price ranges. The Polk design is quite different from the Paradigm, especially when it comes to how it is distributing its bass with the Polk woofer basically transmitting its sound downward as opposed to straight out like the Studio 100 and most direct radiating speakers. Also, given the "mirror image" approach that the Polk's have implemented in their cabinets, it just looks like a speaker designed a little more for a "home Theater" application much like the late, great M & K speakers that were one of, if not, the originator of this particular speaker layout.
I find it kind of interesting that Polk calls this bass distribution system original, yet, if you look at the design of some Yamaha subwoofers that have been on the market now for few years, it is eerily similar to the Polks.
In the end, try to get a set of Studio 100s in to your home and compare. That will be the only way, regardless of what anyone else's preference might be.
