Has anyone heard the X-statiks or X-voce & Emo Speakers? I am really getting curious about the ERM 6.2 L/R ERM 6.3 Center set up. I currently have the X-Statiks up front with the X-voce for center duty being pushed by a LPA-1. It sounds pretty good, but I want something smaller (and better if I can swing it). I've decided to go with a dedicated 2 channel room for music so there is no point having floor standing speakers up front when they are crossed over at 80 hz, I might as well have monitors that takes up less space. The X-voce, while it sounds good it huge, and kinda ugly in my opinion Has anyone heard both of these? Would I be missing out by ditching my X series?

that's an excellent question and one I've wondered myself. Those X-statiks take up plenty of real estate and have received high praise in their won right but there are many - and I mean a lot - of very proud and happy Emotiva owners of the 6.2.
I personally have littered this forum with my raucous and unadulterated praise of the 6.3 either as a center channel (which I've used) or as a L/C/R power trio.
If you're taking a look at the ERM 6.2 / 6.3 combo, I think you'll find an excellent value, IMHO.

I have heard both, but its really hard to comment when I heard them months apart lol. You definately will need a sub with the 6.2's and any other Emotiva speaker, so what have you thought about as far as a sub goes?
Also is the new 2-channel setup in a different room or in the same room as your current X-statiks?
EDIT: im confused, are you looking for a new system or just a 2-channel system?

I am looking to replace my current speakers (X-statik, Xls monitors, and X-voce) with the emo setup. this will be a HT only system (maybe some casual background music too). My 2 channel will be in a dedicated room and I am going LS-6's all the way, no need to debate that. My post is in reference to replacing my current speakers for HT duty. I am really concerned about the detail and space the X-statiks create vs the detail of the ERM's. Since I am separating music and movies I thought it was silly to have these huge space eating speakers up front when they will never go below 80 hz, monitors should fit the bill...... or so I was thinking The X-statiks are gutless in the bass department so I will be using a sub, this is a 5.1 setup.... thoughts..

I think I understand now.
I can comment on the Emotiva 8.3-6.3 combo. For what you're wanting to achieve, I can highly reccomend this set up. Wonderful soundstage, excellent dynamics. I used a sub with this set up, which I think is a must for a mostly HT set up, but the 8.3s are not shy on the low end. I had a crummy sub most of the time but when I did connect a decent sub, wow . . . what a set up.
I've stated before the 6.3 center channel is the shining star. This is one beast of a center channel and has a wide dispersion pattern which made it a winner in my book. Briefly, at the first Texas GTG, I listened to my system in full glory as one forum member (uhcoogsfan) brought his ERDs . . and these are as advertised. Hope this helps.

thanks rather. I am interested in the 6.2's though not the 8.3's. Is the top end the same on both speakers? The 8.3's look like a 6.2 sitting on two 8 " woofers. What do you think of the performance 80 hz and up?
Bigred, can you give me your thoughts on the X-statiks/X-voce vs the Emo speakers, specifically in HT duty? Thanks

I'm sorry, I guess I misunderstood (again). Having never heard the 6.2s personally, I go by the opinions of forums members whose opinions I trust that the 6.2s are senstional speakers. You're right, the top portion of the 8.3 is a 6.2 I believe, and the highs sizzle with clarity.

I think the top of the 8.3 is an ERM-1 - i.e. 5.25" mids instead of the 6.5"s of the 6.2/6.3?
