Great to hear that your ears found a likeness to the Emotiva's. I am still VERY happy with mine. Also note, after my experiences with the UMC-1 and needing a stable platform.. I sold the UMC-1 AND my MPS-1. I am powering the whole Emotiva speaker setup with an Onkyo 5007 receiver. I could not be happier... it runs all those 4ohm, 89db sensitivity speakers with NO problems, and can get way louder then I need it to be. Not sure it makes a lot of difference but the Onkyo has a setting were I tell it I am running less then 6ohm speakers. I do have that setting enabled. I don't find my self missing the Klipsch "horn" sound at all. I think the dialog from the 6.3 is much more intelligible and the whole system is easier on my ears.

Your Onkyo 5007 is a much higher class receiver than my Yamaha RX-v465. The Yamaha has a setting for 6 ohm speakers and is driving these best it can, but runs out of steam. It doesn't even have pre-outs so I can't just add an amp. I've bought Marantz SR5003 off emporium to act as pre-pro and will be getting an amp or combo of amps when my budget catches back up.
Easier on the ears is exactly where I'm at too, even my wife mentioned that when I asked her opinion on the sound.
