Not sure about the Harmony but my URC remote allows creating macros which can start a timer.. after a certain time it can power off all components. And of course one can have multiple macros for different time settings...

Guys quit turning your unit off and going to bed drunk and you wont be blasted with volume when you turn it on next...haha nah just kidding, seriously though quit drinking so much.. I am not picky having only had a couple units in the past. The only request I would have is the 6 channel stereo mode, no other modes or funky sounds but more like SACD just a split up multichannel mode. Too bad they couldnt duplicate that as much as people like it but I suppose it is all in the recording.

Snodog, God I wish I could say I went to bed earlier than my wife b/c I was still enjoying the booze. Unfortunately I teach an early class so I have to get up way early to be awake enough to teach

As I mentioned in my poll, I would prefer that the volume bar could be disabled by the user.

I would like to have control over the default resolution. In my set up the HDMI link is lost sometimes and so the resolution reverts back to the default resolution of 480p. I wish I could set it to something else.

Perhaps a nicer, more ergonomic, back-lit remote control.

Can the sensitivity of the remote receiver be increased? In my system the remote will not work from off-axis, you have to be almost right in front of the UMC-1 for it to receive a signal. Or is this a hardware limitation?

Is that with your harmony also? That may end up being a problem for me, because right now my equipment rack is turned 90 degrees from facing towards the seating positions. I guess I'll find out this weekend. My UMC is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow! ;D Yesterday fedex said Monday, but I'll take it tomorrow.

Or is this a hardware limitation? the stock remote was pretty bad, but when I programmed the harmony it worked quite nicely at most angles.

Or is this a hardware limitation? Have you taken the protective sheet off the front display? I left mine on, until I decide to keep the unit, and the IR response is very directional.

1) Be able to disable the volume bar. 2) Remote is beyond cheap. Worse than some portable DVD player remotes. 3) Get the bugs all figured out related to volume dropouts etc.

Yea, the mylar is off mine.

In addition to everything said so far, I would like to see the dimming improved. When fully dimmed, it would be nice to have the display wake up when commands are sent to it. Alternatively, it would be nice to be able to dim the lights on the buttons and the volume knob independent of the display so that the display can be left at the lowest level and the rest turned off. I don't care about the yellow stand by light either.

The audio ramp up on turn on drives me crazy on my lmc-1 and it seems the umc-1 is the same. This really kills the activity based Harmony remotes since if you don't turn it on to the same input the processor doesn't get the command to switch inputs on startup since it is ramping up the volume....EXTREMELY ANNOYING.

I have the same issue with my current setup. I've gotten used to always doing the "watch TV" activity, let everything boot up and be ready, before I try and change activities. That's easier then getting the sequence messed up, and having to use the "help" command. Even though that generally fixes the issues also.

I am noticing a bit more problems after the update in getting to the correct input. Not sure why that is, yet.

I posted this in the UMC Emo-Q Video thread, but what the hell I'll post it here also. I think it would be cool to see the measured frequency response (in graph form) that the UMC uses to adjust the EQ. That way you could see whats going on, without either plotting your own graph, or using another solution such as REW. *Edit, Looks like this might be too difficult, but hey its still a cool idea. emotivalounge.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=preamps&thread=9351&page=2#141379

So can we get a list of suggested firmware upgrades and vote. For example, I know I would really appreciate (ie pay a reasonable amount for) Dolby Volume per input. I would love it on the Cable input and hate it everywhere else. I would bid $10 just for this (Lonnie you could get RICH)
