Looking at the USP1, it seems like it doesnt have the Balance feature. Deos it mean that it is impossible to adjust the balance with emotiva products since their amp, the one that offer gain adjustment is the UPA2, while the rest dont have the gain adjustment. So how do one adjust the balance when need to?

There are individual trim settings for each channel. Super-balance, if you will...

No balance controls on usp1, does that mean we are stuck here?

I have the usp-1 and there is no balance controls. No tone controls either, what you hear is what you get.

Any balance controls would have to be in the device supplying the signal to the USP-1 such as an AVR. This not all inclusive but is one of the ways balance controls would be available.

The Emotiva RPA-1/2 and the upcoming XSP-1 have balance control and tone controls, but the USP-1 does NOT. If these controls are a must have feature you will need to look for one of those other models. When asked why the USP-1 did not have a balance control, Lonnie said they felt it would open the USP-1 to a possible noise source and their goal for this unit was to make an ultra-quiet analog stereo pre-amp at a price anyone could afford. ;D

Yeah, that lead me to think that no one is bying the usp1 anymore. Hell, I just ordered one yesterday to go with my 2 UPA-1s!

My USP-1 is driving my trusty old Pioneer Spec-2. The Spec 2 has level controls on the front panel for left and right. If I ever felt I needed to adjust the balance I could use the power amp level controls. I never have moved them from their max positions though, except every few months I'll spin them from max to min to prevent any contact problems with the pots.
