It was very much a movie where you had to have watched a major you the other 20 something movies to fully enjoy it. If you only watched a few of the Marvel movies I totally see how this seems to have dragged on. I think you've hit the nail on the head. I've seen about 1.5 of the source flicks. So I'll probably eschew any of the other Avengers movies... Having not read the comic books in my youth, I'm not eager to do a video version either.

This movies Dolby Atmos track was no disappointment. It sounds really full, the overheads had me feeling I was being shot at by Japanese Zeros and the aircraft carriers getting bombed worked out my dual subwoofers. The video was quite convincing in the fact that it didn't look perfect as a true 4K digitally shot film would look today, but still remained true to the 1940's. I had patriotic chills while watching this, just the thought of those servicemen/women going through this made me proud and sad for their families. In other words, I highly recommend this movie. Something of note, if you have a Panasonic DP-UB820 or DP-UB9000 using the Dolby Vision processing, there are 2 documented freeze-ups @ 37:17 & 39:26 into the movie, HDR doesn't have this problem and my Oppo UDP-203 doesn't have these freeze-up, so definitely a Panasonic firmware problem.

I had resigned myself to finish watching this "Skywalker Saga" when the actual media disc came out because of my distaste for "The Force Awakens" and "The Last Jedi". I'll admit some of this distaste was because of my high expectations from when I was younger watching "A New Hope", "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi". Since there is currently more time on our hands these days, myself mainly on my down time from work, I chose to take my neighbor up on his lending me his UHD blu-rays of Episodes VII/VIII/IX. While I still think the plots are just a re-story of the IV/V/VI, I actually enjoyed these a bit more this time around but mainly because of HDR and Dolby Atmos. They are well done video/audio-wise, and comparing them to the Disney+ streamed version which are DolbyVision and DolbyAtmos(compressed DD+) the UHD blu-rays definitely give a more lifelike video and much better audio presentation in the surround/immersive channels. Now having said all of the above, I still don't think VII/VIII are great movies but average in plot, I will say "The Rise of Skywalker/IX" was way more entertaining and definitely drew me in enough to maintain my attention where VII/VIII initially did not. To me, IX is worth owning, but I'm torn as I still don't think VII/VIII are, so I'll be hoping they'll eventually bundle VII/VIII/IX and maybe Rogue One as well. I recommend watching IX to complete the story but also because it is a worthy ending and the HDR/Dolby Atmos are top notch.

With all this down time, I watched the entire SW series in chronological order. Made the story make more sense. I actually enjoyed all of them (including Rogue One) but thought the hardest to watch was New Hope. Only because the effects were outdated. The storyline was fine. I really liked The Rise Of Skywalker. I bought that one in the Steelbook version. I watched Black Panther last night. I thought it was pretty good.

I ride pretty hard for IX and I think it got unfairly based by the “woke” side of the critics who loved IIX while most fans didn’t. It seems like there is a decent movement by people who are rewatching IX and finding they like it a lot more than they initially thought.

1917 I watched this the other night. There were a few spots that had me sitting straight up in my chair. The first explosion in the movie might be the most impactful explosion I've experienced. The wife and I both screamed explicit language when it happened. 😂😂😂

Hi megash0n - What I liked most about the movie was that right up until the end, you never really knew what the resolution would be. The thing I liked least was that all German riflemen were portrayed as being unable to hit the broad side of a barn. But it's a MOVIE, after all, and you have to suspend disbelief sometimes in order to just enjoy the show.

Well, not last night, but last week along with my 12 year old boy and his friend we saw Son on God, I have seen it a few times and still get watery eyes and tears....

While not a blu-ray, I just noticed that the new Season 6 of "Bosch" is now on Amazon Prime Video. I've enjoyed the last 5 seasons.

Since the BestBuy Steelbook 4K Ultra HD version release of this has now been delayed from May 19 to Dec 8, I decided to pull out my blu-ray version of this. Coincidentally, my version has a DolbyTrueHD 5.1 and a DTS-HD MA 6.1 audio track so I'm going to do a comparison of the audio levels between the two audio tracks and see how much of a decibel difference there is while using the DSU and Neural upmixers on my RMC-1. I will say right now while typing this and watching it, the Dolby Surround Upmixer is doing a damn good job with the heights and hope to hear a significant difference when the 4K Ultra HD blu-ray with Dolby Atmos comes out in December. I will also say while I'm sure the upcoming re-mastered 4K HDR version will look fantastic, the magic of a properly ISF calibrated TV is no slouch even in SDR with my blu-ray version of this film.
