I predict the end of the lounge is near if we don't stop this silliness soon. Get back to your lives people. Nothing to see here.

The G10 does play audio via HDMI from both the WDTV and the Revo. Since both of those boxes run linux, my guess is that linux puts out lower voltages via HDMI than the orthodox HDMI standard requires. Emotiva stuck to the orthodox standard and maybe the UMC-1 has problems with low voltage HDMI interfaces. Maybe they can change the sensitivity in their firmware, I don't know.
Look, two years ago when the UMC-1 was designed who thought about connecting esoteric linux computers to mainstream av processors. Today of course, computers in the living room are pretty mainstream and other manufacturers have figured out how to adapt.

I was ready to buy the new processor but with the events that took place over the past 48 hours and lack of communication from management I will wait to make any further purchases from EMO. I would really like to know what happened, what is going on presently and what the future holds for this company. Flame away cheerleaders but something is not right. You all respected Dann G, he was the mouth piece for this company, he came clean, tired to warn us all and then all of a sudden he was voted off the island....anyone wonder why? Remember you all liked him and laughed at his jokes, listened to every word he said Go ahead keep your heads in the sand.. This has absolutely nothing to do with quality or CS. This is all about the future for this company. Somethng has to be really wrong for this whole thing to have taken place the way it did. Dann G was a family member of EMO and now he is kicked to the curb..what gives..all of his posts, here and at AA are being deleted..why??

I read what Dann had posted on another forum, and it in no way indicated that Emotiva was going up in smoke. He had some issues with management and the way he was treated, but that was about it. I'm considering a UMC-1, and my original plan has always been to wait until the early adopters help Emotiva get the "Undocumented Features" (yes, I'm a programmer ) worked out, and that's where I stand today. I fail to see how this singular employer/employee issue has a global effect on the company.

I can see at least one topic, if not two that I would like clarification on....and one of them I have asked about repeatedly and was suspended from the forum for a week by Dann for pushing them about. So from where I stand...that post creates questions !
In the end what I really want is for my freaking UMC-1 to finally ship to me.
^^^^^ ... and the (very few) remaining bugs fixed... Also - Dan L. - thank you for making the comment above... can you please answer one question? Please go here - filedepot.onkyousa.com/Files/own_manuals/firmware_Integra_DTR40_50_DHC40_2_24_10.pdfLook at page 6 (of 7) - USB update for the DTR 50.1. You saw what happened when people tried to update the UMC-1. It was a support nightmare. The second update will done by (probably) twice the number of people. Some are experts now - but what about the first-timers? Another support nightmare? Why can't you do something like the one above?

I do wish there was somewhere in the Emo menu system to check the software version number though. Would be helpful. Maybe a future feature...

The best way to stop a rumor is to address the comments head-on instead of running from them and hoping everyone forgets. When someone given the responsibility *bleep* had to the customers makes accusations of the company, I believe the best way to stop the rumors is to address them head-on as opposed to a watered down "these things happen everything is fine" comment. Or, for those who will believe anything, the "there's no way it could be true, Dann just said it because he was angry". Neither method is going to make this go away. Dann was too much of a mouthpiece for the company online. (which last I knew was how this business model works...online sales). Not looking for all the details, just address/dispel Dann's accusations and then we can all move on. Otherwise every other thread is going to turn into this discussion at some point or another.... Not if you stop adding on like this. We're not shareholders, we're customers. All we are owed is good products and short of that customer service. Nothing more. If you really understood the true relationship between a shareholder and a customer, you'd realize how foolish your comment sounds. Ok ok, I'll make everything better- The UMC-1 is a great product!!!!!!!!!!!! Worth every dime and then some! The firmware updates are completely understandable too! I feel like I've won the lottery everytime I turn it on! In reality, my favorite part of the UMC-1 that not many have mentioned is the ability to name so many different inputs. I have 9 of them, try doing that easily with the 885 (my previous processor) and it was a pain as you had to remember which direct input went to which. For that reason I actually like the scrolling through the inputs with the UMC-1. So there, fair and balanced.
