How about the DSD "popping?". Especially with Oppo players? Is that fixed now? Thanks Mel THIS! is my biggest issue the popping, static clicks! The other would be the flickering osd on my screen, the XMC doesn't have to be one which is puzzling, but it happens! Djoel

Also on the ad it say you can control 5 devices, that is a misprint you can control about 7 or 8 devices which is more than enough for me at the moment.

About 5 years or so ago I owned a pair Dali Helicon 400 the original versions, along with the Center MK2, and the awesome rear on wall speakers. I ran them with Cary Mono blocks, that was 500 wpc monos and they sounded amazing!
I think they'll sound great with a pair of XPA-1L without a doubt, I would start with those and live with them for some time!
Good luck

Nice, and congratulation on getting your up for dedicate music listening and movies !
If I've learn one thing about a dedicate space is, damping the space as much as your budget can allow! I would try to learn as much as possible on the subject, nothing kills listening or watching a movie experience than a knock on the door telling you to lower the volume!
Good luck and will subscribe to this thread for sure

I will be surprised if they have a pre-order list. Every time they do one, they have to reveal a date by which they think it will ship. And, ifnthat date is missed for any reason, they get crucified. I would not do a pre-order list if I were them. Mark Yep, especially when we know a complex item like this doesn't come easy, and Emotiva has shown they are far from perfect when it comes to hitting their target dates (or they are just very overly optimistic). If I were a betting man I wouldn't look for this item before 2017. The first half of 2016 seems overly optimistic to me.
What I do hope they still do it show a prototype of what the intended look and rear panel layout will be. That would certainly help people like me decide if it's got the inputs and outputs I want. This would make buying a $500 40% off card so far in advance a lot easier to swallow, because a $5000 starting price is too much for my budget to bear. It would also help me either get more excited, or move on, depending on what I saw. The thing about that is other CE companies aren't sitting on the side lines either, with bigger, badder, cheaper unites down the pipe line. So I would really hope Emotiva is looking toward the project dates! 2017 seems to be ways off if they want to corner that 16 plus channel market, as I can see Onkyo, Denon, Maranzt, and even Yamaha going channel crazy! Here's to seeing XMR-1 second quarter 2016, and me using my 40% card Djoel

Wow all this time and no 3.1 FW, I'm really hoping 3.1 comes out with very little issues, and some surprises! Djoel

In my experience iTunes is only "bad" when people try to make it do things it does not want to do. I've been using it for ten years. I've never lost a file. I'm happy you never lost a file, as it isn't a fun thing at all, Btw what do you mean by making it do something it does not want to do? All I did was update it, I believe it was a major update, 11. something? Djoel

It still sucks. What the heck does that mean? Why does it "suck"? I've been using it for a long time and it's stable and easy to navigate. It's just catalog/database. What's wrong with it? Please be specific other than it "sucks" ( iTunes has 800 million subscribers... I have two Ipod, two Ipad, one ATV2 and I just refuse to use Itunes any more, I stop updating the software about two years now! Sure it's easy to use, but quirky sh!t is just enough to make my head explode! I hate it every time there's a major update I lose music, purchased music & own CD music. Sometimes whole albums, sometimes just songs and my . They have funky policy about transferring your data to other PC you own, among other things! I won't say it sucks, but it's frustrating as hell at times. Until I hear any major improvements I'm not touching! Heck there's a thread over at AVS asking the question, why is Itunes so bad. I have read it in a while, and I'm might just find they've improved a bunch of things. www.avsforum.com/forum/26-home-theater-computers/1494372-why-does-itunes-suck-so-much.htmlDjoel

I enjoyed this movie, though I do most as I believe it's just a movie so never really think to much into it haha, movies for me are a get away from the real dramatic life of my own Something similar just happened in real life. Someone was abducted or something but the cops dismissed the crime because they thought it was too similar to the movie plot. Turns out the abductor then took up another victim that ended up leading the cops back to the same perp...pretty scary. video.foxnews.com/v/4356843514001/new-details-in-hollywood-gone-girl-case/?#sp=show-clipsSounds like Fargo as well! Very strange indeed.

Very cool. I guess most SSD would fit in most laptops? I would love to keep the hdd that came with my LT, and add a SSD I wonder if they can both fits. Congrats. Dan Hey Dan, For the most part any 2.5in SSD can be used and will fit in most laptops as a replacement. I'm now using the HDD that came with my laptop as a secondary drive. I took out the optical drive and bought a SATA HDD caddy that slides right in where the optical drive was and now the BIOS recognizes it as a secondary drive or what I call the D-Drive with the SSD being the C-Drive. Your laptop/motherboard needs to be recent enough to take advantage of the speed that an SSD is capable of, otherwise you'll get boot times similar to the HDD you are using now. If you are unsure of what will fit/work just look up your laptop on the manufacturers website and that should provide you with all of the necessary information you'll need. Otherwise, I'm sure your fellow Lounge members will be willing to help you out. Awesome information, great to hear the BIOS recognize both SSD,& SSD drives just not sure I'm willing to give up my optical drive thou lol. I have a 8.1 Dell which I think it's pretty recent, maybe less than two years? Can you post a link to the cady, so I can do some research? Will look into the model number and such, and see if I benefit from the SSD up grade, thanks again. Dan

Installed a Crucial MX200 as my boot drive for my new Lenovo laptop today. 8 sec boot up time for Windows 8.1 and I'm quite happy. Very cool. I guess most SSD would fit in most laptops? I would love to keep the hdd that came with my LT, and add a SSD I wonder if they can both fits. Congrats. Dan
